[Controversial] FDA bans all flavored cigarettes

Wow, all I can say is fuck you, FDA. Djarum Black clove cigarettes have been my favorites for two years now, and I thought going from $5.50 to $9 a pack over the past year was the worst of it. Now, since apparently we clove smokers can't make our own decisions (and the fact that Philip Morris can't stand a bit of competition), ALL flavored cigarettes, including cloves, are being pulled off the shelves. Because fuck you, America.

I went to a store the other day, and Djarum Blacks are now "clove cigars", which come in 12 packs instead of 20 (not that they cost any less, mind you). So I bought a pack, hoping they wouldn't be too different. The shit tasted exactly like a Marlboro fucking Red. No cloves at all.

What's next, banning Lucky Strikes because we can't figure out that unfiltered cigs are worse for your lungs?

I noticed, thanks. I can still go buy and smoke all the cigarettes I want, it's just they're all shitty now. It's like if ice cream shops suddenly pulled all flavors except vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry.

It's also bad for your colleagues, for the people you walk past in the street while happening to have a cigarette, anybody that travels in your car if you've ever had a cigarette while driving, as well as any person who happens to enter your home (this of course, doubly includes any dependants, spouses, partners, parents, siblings, and other relatives).

well Zam get used to it. The new "progressive" movement (whatever) seeks to eliminate everything that can do us harm (because they know whats best for us, right?) they will make America and the world better (anyone remember history on the Prohibition Era? Yeah that worked...not.) ...ironically the same people who are part of this movement bitch the most when something is taken away. I don't smoke, personally I think it is a disgusting habit, and those who toss their butts on the ground reflect the person I most despise...however; I don't think people who smoke should have their privileges taken away and/or what flavor cigarette they choose to smoke. I would not be surprised if by the time my kids (10 years or so) reach adulthood; cigarettes will be illegal in the US.

If people come into your home they should know ahead of time they are stepping into a smoker's house, same with your car. It's already banned in most public places and I am fine with that. But in private a person should be able to smoke what they want. Outside a person should be able to smoke too since it just sort of disperses.

The only point you bring up that isn't already addressed is that of dependents. I'd suggest making it illegal to smoke around any of your dependents, problem solved.

Banning the tobacco is not the direction to be going.

How would they know? Unless you tell them, or you happen to see them smoking a cigarette, you wouldn't know. For example, when I was younger I had a friend whose Dad used to take us to the movies and stuff. His car smelt God-awful, because he smoked. I didn't actually find out until much later, because he never smoked in front of us. But his car did stink.

It doesn't, not really. Even 5m away, you can still smell it. Even further, if it's windy.
