He knew full well what he was doing. It doesn't take an adult to understand that shooting somebody in the back of a head is a bad idea and will get you thrown into a tiny cell for a long time.
The kid SAID he was gonna do it. Maybe the stupid family should have taken it as a warning sign. No kid says hes gonna cap you in the back of the head.
And he goes to school afterward, thats hilarious.
Yea try him as an adult and give him death by firing squad is my call, im talking a 5 minute trial tomorrow then take him outside and kill the bastard, but this is funny as hell.
He just caused far more then a death. I feel sorry for the daughter who now has to grow up through the hardest times of a childs life without a father figure to help (teenage years), and the wife that has no husband to be with to help raise her child.
He already threw away his life. Why kill him? That's the easy way out. Keep him in prison for a few decades then release him with no skills beyond that of an 11 year old and have him _remember_ why his crappy life is the way it is.

Uh, I'm pretty sure 11 is considered way too young to be tried as an adult anywhere (except maybe Texas). It's fucked up, but I think most psychologists would argue that an 11-year-old isn't as mentally capable as an adult, and so can't be held as guilty the same way.

All you're doing is creating another criminal and releasing him back into the population. Not a great idea.

He had the mental capacity to pick up and gun and kill somebody.
Most 11 year olds aren't mature enough to pull that off.
"Mental capacity"? It's a shotgun, it's pretty simple. You load it, point it at the thing you don't like, and pull the trigger. Children in Africa have been doing it for decades.
A 20-gauge shotgun as a Christmas present for the kid. Great idea, dad!
Young teenagers are known for their well-balanced brain chemistry. Therefore, let this boy freely play with his new toy at home. Now go fuck and impregnate a woman that is not his mother and see what happens.
A fucked up kid in a fucked up family. I hope the father will not get away with this.

Why is people's first reaction always to blame the dad?
I remember when that Yates woman drowned her four children. My local newspaper was flooded with letters demanded that the FATHER be imprisoned for life. WTF?

He is to be blamed for giving his kid access to the shotgun, simple as that. Of course, the kid isn't innocent, too.
