It's not, but the kid should get at least 15-20 years in prison without parole.

He should be put in juvenile detention until his 18th birthday which is how the system is supposed to work.

Meph was saying the FATHER should be imprisoned as well. Which I think is a terrible idea, as it'll just screw up the daughter's life as well - not to mention his life. Lose your fiancee, then go to jail for it. Great deal.

Where did Mephistopheles suggest the father should be imprisoned? I only see him suggesting the father has to shoulder some of the blame for the shooting.

I hope the father will not get away with this.
Yeah, doesn't specifically say imprisoned, but what else would he mean? A fine? A stern warning?

No he should be shot in the back of the head with a shotgun. If he lives, good on him.

Why lock him up? Then he gets out and may do it again, he obviously has a history of this sort of thing.

I think whoever got him the shotgun should share some responsibility. If it was the father than at least lock him up for a bit, but the father was not an active participant.

Its stupid to blame the father for this. It is the kids fault.

Most eleven year olds don't posess murderous instinct unless they're specifically taught, as is the case with your flawed African example. Do you think they just picked up AK-47s one day and decided to shoot random people?

Better: Leave him there for life. He knew exactly what he was doing and presumably by his age knew "right" and "wrong". Therefore, he deserves a permanent residence in a hollow concrete block.

Let him kill a person, throw him away for seven years, then let him out with a slap on the wrist? Do you have any idea what those people tend to do when they get let out after a previous murder? They usually kill somebody else.

[sarcasm]

But that's inhumane! He's just a kid who didn't know it was wrong to blow off his father's girlfriend's head while she was asleep!

[/sarcasm]

That.
