I actually noticed more anti american threads on GF than against any other country.
So I doubt anything like that is banned.

I don't back everything Bush does or says, but I find it odd that this journalist that tossed the fit is so highly regarded by some and even his little boy talking proudly like he wants to go to war to free him. It just goes to show many people in such countries are used to things getting done via chaos rather than democracy.

Many of the Iraqi citizens have thanked the US forces for freeing them from the grip of Hussein. Others that stand out as radicals amongst a mostly conservation nation act like they'd be better off if he were still in power, cowering at his every whim.

This incident vaguely reminds me of how so many people back Putin, regardless of his corrupt ways, just because he boosted their economy. At what price will they enjoy their affluence?

The incident does raise the question in my mind though. If it's the ultimate insult to hit someone with your shoe, what is it if you so badly miss twice in a row? The guy is no doubt feeling a certain amount of humiliation even in his smugness, and deservedly so.

All I say is " lol", I'm suprised that this incident made it to the news headlines, and managed/manages to stick around for several days! Just a shoe, nobody got hurt, it made me laugh when I saw it, that's all.

I don't think it is such an important event that it deserves a serious political discussion.

As for banning of threads against certain countries - lately there are a lot of people here who claim that the forums are biased in some way or other. Where did all the people go who actually discussed things instead of complaining about the incredible bias?

Reason: You are American (or American ally) and America HAS to be right no matter what.
Is that the only reason you have for justifying your mass killings around the globe? In Vietnam, Pakistan, Egypt, Iraq, Sudan, Afghanistan ...
Talking of Iraq: Ooooh! Those guys have got biochemical weapons and we don't care whether our information is right or wrong. We have the right to invade them because we think they've got the weapons and WE CAN NEVER BE WRONG!
Talking of Afghanistan: Poor Taliban. We raised them with our own hand of love and our own weapons BUT they had to be used against the Russian invasion. Now that the invasion is over, we must take care of them because we can't let an Islamic state grow to power like that! What a shame we still have got neither Mulla Omar and nor that shadow of a man known as Osama.
Talking of Pakistan: The Taliban are hiding in the mountaneous regions of Pakistan and ONCE AGAIN, our information cannot be right. And even if its wrong, who cares? The media is only going to cry if the white people get killed. One can get away with killing as many brown/black people as they want.
Talking of Sudan: The pharmacutical lab must be preparing weapons of mass destruction. Aspirin, quinine, panadol and diazepam might be used as bio-weapons in the future. At least we are free to think so and once again, what we think is right. period!

Yeah, right. Americans with their culture of peace and tolerance would never use violence to solve problems

Backing Putin because he boosted the economy makes more sense to me than backing Bush because of nationalistic or patriotic sentiments. Sure, Putin isn't exactly the best politician you can imagine, but his actions pale in comparison to those of Bush and his fellows. I would say that more innocent people were imprisoned, tortured or killed because of Bush's actions than due to Putin's little games.
