It's not the media's job to make a presidency work, it's their job to do at least relitively un biased reporting on the facts, something that's definatly hasn't happened in the last 8 years and most likely in the next 4. Mark my words. No matter how bad things may get it will never be Obama's fault because of fraudulent pukes like this guy.

Incorrect sir. it is the media's job to report the news, that's what they are paid to do. It is their ethical duty report the news as it is without spin and without a blatent agenda to push.

Now whether you watch the news or read the news is irrelevent as millions of American's do. With bias such as this how can American make informed decisions about important issues? The answer is they can't now when one news agency or paper imparts their view on the issue to the viewer or reader.

1. The government doesn't pay them, so it's not like they're failing their boss.

2. According to...let me see...The US Constitution, they're allowed to say anything they want. It's up to you whether you believe it or not.

They can't, and it's impossible to "unbias" a news station. You just have to find the source that is the most trustworth. Personally I don't trust any of them.

This is a tough one, I'd have to say all news networks exept for Fox News, is more Obama-sided, and even if they don't mean to they did often lean towards Obama...

No they're not failing their boss, they're failing the American people. Additionally it is true they can say whatever they want I'm not arguing that. However the problem lies in the fact that they are held in an esteem with the American public. You see, people watch the news because there is a trust that the media establishes with it's viewers and readers. We believe that the news they report on is relitively accurate and unbiased. However when increasing biased anchors and writers on all fronts insert too much of their personal opinion into reporting it distorts the message, it ruins the puropose of the news itself. Without neutrla sources of news how can one decern what is believable or not? you can't as you have nothing to base that idea off of.



Again you're right, all media sources have bias, they have their right or leftward leaning stances. However listen to Matthews' words, theyr'e incredible. His job is not to make the presidency a sucess his job is to report on the events of the nations and then sometimes give his own opinions. But this is blatent, flat out brainwashing of the American public. To say something like this is to be like a State Run news agency, to paint everything just as the administration or government wants you to think it is. This goes beyond bias my friend, i'm used to simple bias. This is a group of individuals who have highjacked what once was good and trustworthy institution and are using it to perpetuate their own agenda.

To many Americans still watch shit like this expecting relitively middle of the road news repoting and they're getting this crap. There to is much at stake in this nation to allow shit like this to go on. The brainwashing of america starts with stuff like this, and you've dismissed it.

The News is going to present what ever they want, and forcing them to do otherwise would be against the concept of free speech.

We have a multitude of channels. You pick from MSNBC which happens to be as liberal as much as Fox is conservative, in an American sense. You have your conservative camp like Fox, and CBS which might lean either way. The Christian Broadcasting Network even more so. CNN is generally more left leaning, (though not as much as some people would claim imo).

And from what I've read, it seems you're pissed off more about the fact that they don't match YOUR personal views, not so much the level of reporting. Fact of the matter is the media will jump on what ever is creating buzz, be it an unpopular war, an unpopular administration (And no one is exempt. Just look at the coverage Clinton got during his impeachment).

They will report what ever they want, but I wouldn't say it's brainwashing. It's the realm of business! Just check what all of our major news networks are owned by.

Exactly. They report to what attracts attention, what sells well. And people are inclined to tune in to the media outlets that tell them what they want to hear. If one outlet thinkgs that their "balanced" coverage sells that's good for them (and their viewers).

Now with publically funded media (news reporters) it matters a whole lot less what they report. They could set a goal (report as objectively and balanced as possible) and tell their story whether people would tune in or not. Though even here there would be the danger of them losing funds if they would lose the trust of the public and thus might end up losing their financial income...

SO the medias goal is to report what they see as important in accordance with their goal (which ideally would be to report neutrally and not giving a shit about what sells well) and it's your job to tune in to those media that you believe you can trust to a reasonably degree (checking other media to compare stories and making up your mind about who you believe and what the truth is).

This sounds like one big conspiracy, but if the public does reasonibly well at filtering out those who try to report objectively and such then you can get your fair and objective news coverage.
