| The 17 year old will get off with a shorter sentence. The 23 year old could face attempted murder charges and be held much longer. That is in the US, and I know sentences are much more lenient in Europe. I always hear about killers getting let out after less than 25 years. In the US we have the problem of overcrowding, so people like this could get let out while people who had a few grams of drugs sit in jail. Prisons should be used to keep dangerous people away from society. Drug users pose a less of a danger that a killer or rapist. Drug users could be forced into rehab instead of being locked up. Locking them up does nothing to fix what got them in jail in the first place.

He killed a Swedish family of three over a bicycle, and has since made a row in Swedish media every time he has escaped. He would actually already have been released had he not prolonged his sentence by leaving surveilled probation a couple of months ago. ![]()

| It's lucky everybody isn't this sensational with individual bits of news. I read in the news that a dog had been run over by a car. THAT MUST MEAN DOGS ARE EXTINCT! WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO?! Seriously, chill out. The way you talk everybody under the age of 40 must be out there smashing tequila bottles over each other's heads, when that just isn't the case. You're talking about a few isolated incidents that just get hyped up by the news to the point of everybody thinking that they can't set foot outside without getting beaten to a bloody pulp. Drunken louts have been hitting each other and strangers since the concept of intoxication was first invented. It's not news. Just like people have been murdering each other for millennia, stealing from each other for millennia, raping people for millennia, etc, etc, etc.

Now, back on topic. Sure, this is horrible and sick, but there a lot of crimes that are much worse. The fact is, most youth aren't like this. There are those few who are troubled and do stuff like this. Not to this extreme mabye, but still. And for the youth who do get in fights with each other, there are rules in that fight and they go by those rules.

| There's a tiny minority of people who does this kind of stuff, what you've done is looked at one case and now dubbed that 'youth is becoming sick' as if all people are like that, And also 23 years old isn't a youth. <16 is a youth.

| Young people have always been pushing the limits of what is acceptable. In the 1960's people were shocked at teens doing acid and shagging each other in public. Today doing drugs and shagging each other(while not in public) is commonly accepted as a part of teenage life. There is not much more of a limit to push when you are attempting to kill other people though. There is some hope for teenagers though, but not much looking back on my graduating class. The worst of the youth today will either be dead or in prison in a few years. If actions like the one the OP posted continue then the other %99.9 of youth will be looked at the same way as the ones posted. This thread is an example of my statement. 3 people out of over a billion youth commit a crime and suddenly everyone thinks that the world's youth are troubled.

| now yes, the thread title is overstated. but i've made it this one, because this was the first thought going through our minds when we heard it. ofcourse many people are good and well minded. but what disgusts me, is that these boys comitted this crime already for the third time, and our justice just lacks power and balls to become more severe, these boys maybe will have 5 years, and they will probably sit for 3.. i mean if it was up to me, this kind of people don't diserve the gift of life anymore. the same in our country with marc dutroux, the sick bastard pedofile raped young girls, kidnapped them, putted them the basement in a room with a 300 kg door before it, and he killed the greatest part of them, and leaving the others with horrible memories... now this guy already escaped twice. in his cel he has a tv, a pc... and he got... 30 years.. 30 years!! i thought i was going to pull of his lower crime balls, and put them in his nose! i mean so many countries have such a strong law enforcement and justice system, and in our country no'one is afraid to murder, because the sentence you get, is like nothing. people who piss against a wall, get a bigger fine/punishment, then people who murder |

You know, I bet 25 years ago people were also complaining about where the youth of then were going. Unless you are prepared to actually do something about it, complaining is no use. It is offensive to me to be implicated as violent, lacking in empathy, and an alcoholic because of the actions of others. Stop. Please. Before you do yourself an injury.

| i did not say they all were like that, i already explained why i used that thread title ( see post abov i think) i just mean, if it's the third time these guys did it.. then obviously something is wrong with these people. and that's the part where i don't get it, why does the justice allow them to commit it 3 times? |
