I think people are tweeking because his pastor is a racist. Obama is just doing what anyone would do - distancing himself from this guy. But you know how it is, it's politics and the piranhas do love to circle.

...indeed. The 'drive by' media decides what the sheep get to watch, and if you are not sheep and offer up an alternative political approach you are laughed or mocked by the powers that be in American politics. Nadar and Paul know this all too well.

Thanks for the updated poll. Despite my reservations about Obama I’d still cast a silent vote to his favor. McCain is a twit and Clinton…I’ll just not even go there. Obama makes nice speeches and for his political stake I sure hope he can deliver what he preaches. He still has yet to provided concrete or reliable explanations of how he is going to usher in this change he keeps talking about, and unless he starts delivering before the convention Clinton and McCain are going to rip him a new one. Thus far all he has hinted on is a revival of FDR’s New Deal programs, which worked for short term fixes but not for long-term prosperity and FDR never meant it to be anyhow. America is a different beast and Obama needs to really look at that if he weren’t so blinded by his politics he’d look to Reagan and see that FDR’s legacy just won’t work for long-term solutions. Some of his comments about economic solutions and International affairs revel the obvious truth his critics like to poke at: That his short term in the political arena has left him untried. I for one would like to give him the opportunity given the choices at hand…Once upon a time a very novice senator with the same sort of scrutiny preached change and became one of the greatest US presidents of the 20th Century – John F. Kennedy.

I could go to bed at night and feel all right with calling him Mr. President.

The problem is not "political parties". People will always organise into collectives that suit and advance their needs or desires. Even if all "political parties" are illegal, representatives, and politically-minded people will form into blocs or factions of likeminded people.

The problem is the two political parties you've got.
