Default Is God a communist?

What do you think is the political ideology God (Christian or whatever other religion you fancy) would be most likely to agree with or vote for?

I don't want to say that we should follow an ideology because of what is written in a very old book, but I think it is interesting to compare the guidelines set by religion with what politicians, who often claim to be religious, actually do these days.

While the republican party would say that he would be a hands down Texas republican, I'd think he wouldn't fit into politics, except as a sort of laid back dictator, of the beneficial kind mind you.

Ironically, I think there is a pretty solid argument that God (the Judeo-Christian one, that is) was--at least in the beginning--a Marxist.

After all, Adam and Eve (or Lilith, depending on where you pick up the tale) had need, and God had means. From each, to each. To be cast out of Eden was to be punished, in a world where it was necessary to fend for oneself, a world without plenty.
But, after that whole thing with the apple, God seems to have turned rather more towards either capitalism ("Get out--sink or swim" [literally, in one case]) or apathy, depending on which aspect of politics (economic or social, respectively) you look at. Or all-encompassing. It's hard to tell, as the modern notion of "left" and "right", "liberal" or "conservative" don't really apply to God (again, the Judeo-Christian variety), however. I'm sure you could find a few self-styled far-siders to disagree, though.

Pagan religions would be much more fun to study like this, though! Surely, Dionysis must be liberal, while Odin rather more conservative

I think God is above human logic then again h may ot even exist. But spirits definantly do.

If you know the enemy
and know yourself,
you need not fear the result of a
hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy,
for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat.
If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will
succumb in every battle.

God is theoretical, Communism only works in theory, so I guess, in theory, he could be.

See what I did there?

I would say that Jesus was a socialist as well though he would be a poor politician. In today's world he would be in the place of the Pope, that's for sure with a lot more influence.

P.S. Very original topic subject I have to say

Returning back to good ol' Pub, at least for some time

Good topic, MrFancyPants! I really enjoy reading "socialist interpretations" of the teachings of Christ. I am under the impression that Jesus would have been something close to a libertarian socialist, he certainly wouldn't want a benign totalitarian state. Then again it's a hyper-complex issue, and I don't really know that much about it. His teachings have been twisted so much by the church that it's hard to know what he did or didn't stand for - unless of course you study it on your own, which I do not. If anything, he wouldn't be a "one market under God" type, that's for sure.

Jesus was definitely a libertarian-socialist.

God, on the other hand, is a spiteful, elitist, racist bastard.
