We call them 'Tykes' or 'Bloody Yorkshire Farmers'. There Confederate Flag is the White Rose, though they don't use it so much, they still foolishly think that it is better than the Red Rose.

Lancashire ftw!

Well it depends...Now I'll sound like a real Stockholmer but we have some odd people up north driving around in Volvo 240's and brewing moonshine in the barn. It's mostly prejudices I guess  and I don't know if I'd call them rednecks, hillbilly would be a better word ;).

Any nation which has:
  • Sunshine for a part of the year
  • A need for manual labour outside

will have rednecks. Rednecks are called so because they have red necks from working in the outdoors with the sun on their necks causing their necks to turn red.

So there you go. Rednecks are everywhere.

You forgot alcohol and a difference in DNA outside of the aforementioned "redneck" group.

They claim they are the only one who works (northern people) and make italian economy go on... So not true, let me tell you this and I am 100% northern...
Actually anyway they think anyone who was born south of the Po river is a lazy jobs-stealer, criminal and so on...
The Po is here:

Another thing is that they also changed the way italian people dress: since their colour is green everybody who wears green may be considered one of them... Imagine the pain for me on St. Patrick' s day! Well, at least I was drunk enough to not notice what (or if) I was wearing...

Oh..at the age of 12 I knew exactly what the Confederate Battle Flag was all about. It is others like yourself that associate that flag with slavery and biggotry. You see the flag really is a symbol of our heritage in the South. Too many people think that our Civil War was about slavery. The war was about our independence from the North. It is like saying that the 4th of July is a racist holiday because guess what....back then ...all 13 colonies had slaves. You see...it doesn't make sense. General Grant had slaves and so did President Lincoln's in-laws. Many don't even know that congress was willing to pass a certain amendment to allow permanint slaverly if only the South returned to the Union. There is so much that people don't really know about the South.
