In England I myself come from a council house (government housing) and work in a factory, but i have faith in the Lord God and that is my light!

So do not fear the smary middle class gits of america who call you "rednecks" oh poorer people of America.

If a collapse of any parts of your house has led to the death of family pets.

If you have been married three times or more and still have the same in laws.

If anyone in your family has not removed the cigarette from their mouse before telling a law enforcement officer to bite them.

If you or anyone in your family covets any brands of liquor as particularly praiseworthy and bordering on religious devotion.

If you cannot marry your sweet heart because it would be a violation of the local age limit laws.



If you follow any auto sports with religious like devotion and start fights with anyone who criticizes the sport.

Personally I dont watch NASCAR. I only like watching WRC and FIA road racing at the legendary classic circuits.

Besides why would UK have any rednecks? They shipped all the inbred ignorant genetically challenged to our shores until we became independent then tehy had to find a new place to put them which was how Australia was settled. Fortunately for the Aussie's all the bad criminals and kooks were already in the US so Oz got the lesser evil criminals.

Unless I'm mistaken you require a lopsided, thought-bereft grin to qualify as a redneck.
And while europe does have it's groups of uh socially somewhat largely inept people, the redneck is a purely an american strain of the species :P

I'm not sure this one might fully qualify. As a very large amount of euros actually do hold at least one alcoholic beverage in very high esteem and often see it's defense as a part of national pride. :P

Most guidos are in New Jersey. There are a lot of country-folk and white trash in certain parts of New England and New York.

I'd imagine Europe might have hicks, but not Rednecks, and there is a difference. A hick is like a redneck but minus the inbreeding and racism. Back woods, less education (usually), big into farming, drinking, and country music. That sort of thing.

In Finland we don't have red necks or hicks per se, but people in the country side have a more conservative take on moral issues and have somewhat more narrow viewpoint on things.

However I think the situation is the same in pretty much every country in the world: people living in cities are more liberal & tolerant in general than people living in countryside.

That is ofcourse a generalisation. People from the rural areas may tend to be a bit more conservative all around but they also tend to be less exposed to city problems like bad neighbourhoods with a bad social structure, increased crime rates, theft, intergration problems of immigrants of a certain background clogging together etc.

I guess a "larger exposure rate" both exposes you to more "positive" and "negative" experiences. This weither variety of views and intrests may work in favour aswell as against you.

In the UK we don't really have Rednecks... but we have Chavs... they are our societys downturn...

Wandering the streets causing trouble, starting fights with everything they see... driving around in shitty cars done up to almost look like a rally car but still doesn't... No amount of education, no amount of care and a waste of taxpayer money...

now, on a serious note...
i'd say it is a bit different in the UK. the south-west, the most rural area, was largely wone by left/left-leaning parties in the last election in 2005, although as labour becomes less popular, so does the leftist share of votes, even though labour aren't that right-wing...

many of the cities, such as London, are turning conservative. this is in part, a protest vote, but it's still conservative, as opposed to liberal, but by other countries' standards, the British conservative party is very liberal, in fairness...

Well TBH alot of Canadians and Europeans seem to not get that rednecks are stereotyped in the South, where there believed to be. In the Northern States (note that doesn't mean states in the northern part of the U.S., its merely states which supported the idea's of people like Lincoln case and point, California).They seem to think that they are equally spread all over, but really there mostly in the South Eastern U.S. where the Confederacy was formed.

I assume any country ravaged by war would have those kind of people, like hwo Germany has those Ludolfs I see here, I assume there could be some *gasp* in France and Russia!

As in, there mostly in the South East, Canadians and Europeans IME think that there all over. I have yet to actually see on in America TBH.....
