Dude, it is either you are too strict, or you are too gentle on the criminals. To the normal parents who can let their young children run around the streets of the city without worry, or to the women who can walk safely in the night, it is probably best for it to be this way. Criminals should be treated bad anyway.
Criminals should be treated bad? What about those that are merely "detained" for questioning? Do you believe in "innocent until proven guilty", Dobry? The Japanese police beat people to get confessions. That means that the may not actually have committed the crime, they might just want the beating to end.
Look at that!, I note similarities between jeff&eddie's posting style and yours, specifically, ignoring the arguments that effectively "pwn" yours, saying something is "wrong" and leaving it at that without explaining why it is wrong, and spouting/regurgitating ideas and thoughts that earn the scorn of most of the posters here.

The Western world does not have that to any degree greater than the Eastern world, but it's just more publicized. If you want to call the western world depraved, look at Indonesia. Go to Singapor, visit Taiwan. Those places are so publicly depraved it'll make America seem like Saudi Arabia.
