Perhaps you haven't looked at our economy lately...

The deficit is rapidly shrinking. Gas prices are down $1 since just a few months ago. The DOW is setting a record high almost every day this week.

oh did bush finally get his head out of his ass or is he just trying to make republicans look good? well right now neither the democrats nor the republicans look very good.

of course they are going down since saudi arabia misses our money so much they are dropping the prices again, cause we don't have enough oil in alaska to supply everyone in the US with oil/gas for very long period of time. damn tree huggers.

Again, wrong. OPEC was giving serious debate to jacking up the prices again when they went down.

uh huh.....then why jack up the prices?

Re: Bush and his infinite wisdom...or so we're told

Why would they jack up the prices? Influence the elections, generate a greater profit, lord their shit, who knows...

i want to know something else too...how would it be damaging to the "war on terrorism" if we left iraq? we are still in afghanistan.

Re: Bush and his infinite wisdom...or so we're told

Well, the insurgents who aren't Iraqi aren't going to sit on their hands forever you know... Some might pack up for Afghanistan, others might start blowing crap up all over. Furthermore, think about why the terrorists are fighting us there. They want us to leave. So if we leave without doing our job, we're doing what they want. Last but not least, it would mean that the lives of the soldiers killed in Iraq were lost in vain.

That I can't stand for.

You do realize that if you raise minimum wage the price of everything else goes up too. This happens because the imployer now has to pay his emploies more so in order for that imployer to make a profit he has to jack up his prices. So ultimantly the person making minimum wage ends up in the same possion as before.
