Actually, it would be reality if not for some stupid political party I won't mention...

Because they PERSIST in voting AGAINST missile defense systems.

It's called Strategic Missile Defense a.k.a STAR WARS, it was originally desgined to be space based chemical lasers.

The first one was scrapped because of politics with the Russians, which of course later admitted to researching and developing they're own SDI program.

TODAY, however, a certain moronic political party[iirc] consistently votes AGAINST such measueres.

[So there's no confusion I'll give you a hint: it's the party of John Kerry...]

It doesn't make a nuke useless, just missles. Someone could still walk across the border with a nuke in a suitcase and do some damage. I'm saying the only way to make nuclear weapons truly uselss is to make something that cancels out the blast wave and radiation. Which, as far as I know, will be impossible for millions of years.

Last but not least, it would mean that the lives of the soldiers killed in Iraq were lost in vain.

That I can't stand for.
The terrorist are fighting there because 90 to 96% of them are Iraqi. And they want the States to leave. That's why they're fighting.

And what's better, 2,900 soldiers killed in vain, or 10,000 killed for an unsure victory? Not to mention the Iraqi death toll... which is 50 times the American.

And the Vietnamese didn't attack the U.S. after they booted them out of South Vietnam. Just because the U.S. leaves doesn't mean that insurgents will go to the mainland States. Most would be too poor and not motivated.

I am against how the war was started, but once it is underway you cannot just cut and run, that shows weakness. If we cut and run all that does is show the rest of the third world that if the US invades your country just throw a little resistance their way and they turn and run with their tales between their legs. Besides think of all of the american lifes that have been lost due to this struggle. Do you want to go tell their families that we have changed our minds about things and we are just gonna pull out. Good luck with that. Im so sick of north americans showing more sympathy for the iraqi people than our own people. Remember they are the ones blowing themselves, their fellow people, and our soldiers up. We are the ones trying to keep things in line, and for some reason your average iraqi citizen hates us for it.

That is absolute bulls... Er, incorrect information. Not about the US leaving, that they obviously want. The percentage is so damn high I can barely fathom it. In a word: wrong.

actually it's more like 20%-30% and how is moving to a different place a sign of weakness?

Like I said before. The terrorists want us to leave. If we left, it would be bowing to their demands.

Compared to leaving, yes.

Perhaps we should be allowed to kick a little more ass, but other than that, yes.
