Everyone deviates from the norms of social behaviour in some way...it is a matter of whether this deviation is harmful to others that is important (significantly harmful, that is - revulsion doesn't count).

Even if you could call homosexuality a mental illness or disorder, that means nothing. There is no inherent reason people with disorders should be "corrected" unless they pose a real and immediate threat to others, or unless they wish to be, nor should they be treated as lesser beings.

The right to act freely should not be revoked unless that action infringes on another persons ability to act freely. This concept should be strictly upheld.

Examples of actions that do not infringe on others are:
Gay Marriage
Not wearing a seatbelt while operating a motor vehicle

Niether of these effect other people. These laws are in place because particular people don't understand the very basic idea of freedom. It's obviously more complicated for some people.

Gay marriage? Fine by me. In my view, it's barely worth a discussion of this magnitude.
