Congratulations France, You're now on Al Qaeda's list

It seems Al Qaeda has now teamed up with Algerian terrorist cells to attack France.

Quote:

"All the praise is due to Allah for the blessed union which we ask Allah to be as a bone in the throats of the Americans and French Crusaders and their allies, and inspire distress, concern and dejection in the hearts of the traitorous, apostate sons of France," he said.
This doesnt even make sense to me:
Quote:

"We ask him (Allah) to guide our brothers in the Salafist Group for Call and Combat to crush the pillars of the Crusader alliance, especially their elderly immoral leader, America."
And all this because France sent peacekeepers to Afghanistan?

How long has it been since French Crusaders ravaged the Middle East? 1250 AD?

How long has it been since Moorish Muslims invaded southern France? 732 AD?

He might also be talking about the absolute ban on religious signs in France forbidding having religious signs in class and etc. Not to be forgot, France had numerous colonies in North Africa.

We get our share of terror-threats in Europe as well these days. You probably remember that someone tried to blow up two trains in Germany last month, apparently they were motivated by those cartoons and the death of Al Zarqawi.

Allah is not available right now, your call is being forwarded to the 75th Ranger Regiment.

Please hold.

But I kinda figured the call would be forwarded to the French Legion Etrangere :deal:

If they're actually deployed. Hell, I'm sure they're doing said job in one capacity or another.

Sorry, I must take this shameless jab at the French military...

Any armed force whose most illustrious and famous unit is comprised of soldiers from every country but the one it fights for (officers excluded, if I recall correctly) has a serious problem.

Well, the war in Algeria is a recent event. Algerian terrorist groups obviously don't like France because of this.

I think the word "Crusader" is generically applied to western countries that have troops overseas by Mr. Bin Laden now, a new trend he wants to start I guess.

Does these terrorists mobs actually got ink for printers to actually print a list out, cause lve never seen a list of enemies from them, only media reports, and they get oh so twisted at times.
Ok safe to say America and the UK are on it if there is one, but sheesh, you could just say everyones on it anyways, whats the difference ?

haha al queda is getting dumber and dumber. they are gonna bomb france, who are not good friends with the US.
because of the crusades, that like US bombing britain for the tea tax.
their first big mistake was attacking america in the first place. all it caused was for al queda to run to the hills after getting their bum spanked. im actully disapointed in ameria for not sending 500,000 troops to afghanistan to wipe al queda out, and make the taliban beg to be taken to gitmo.

France's leader have (sic) repeatedly warned that the decision not to join the U.S.-led war in Iraq would not shield the country from Islamic terrorism. French participation in the U.N. peacekeeping mission in Lebanon could give extremists another reason to strike.
The national police had no immediate comment on the announced alliance, but officials have long regarded the GSPC as one of the main terror threats facing France.

French experts agreed, but also noted the group has been severely weakened by internal divisions, security crackdowns and defections in Algeria.
It looks to me like al-Qaeda is trying to make a Coalition of the Willing, by propping up failing groups in order to make itself appear stronger.

Maybe banning hijabs, and Muslim bashing may have caused some anger.
These people are losers.Thing is when they strike they cause a lot of damage.
They are maybe trying to take advantage of uh the current attitude towards Muslims.

Question:are maximum of the rapists and other criminals in France,Muslims?

do you expect rationality or fairness from these people?

In the grand scheme of things, the US-France relationship is the closest international partnership in modern times. Even more so than the Anglo-American alliance.

Re: Congratulations France, You're now on Al Qaeda's list

The French fleet was the key to the final American victory at Yorktown during the Revolution.

Two Frenchmen, de Lafayette and de Beaumarchais, did more for American independence than any other foreigners by far. Lafayette by training our soldiers, and Beaumarchais by equipping our army, mostly with his own money.

It was the arrival of American troops that allowed the Allied Powers to liberate the entirety of France during the final years of World War I.

Escadrille 124 (the so-called Lafayette Escadrille) was composed entirely of American pilots in the French flying service during World War I. The British did not have an American combat unit. The French also had at least two ambulance services staffed by Americans, and commanded by French officers.

The US, while it still could, supplied war materials to the French up until the Germans conquored it early in World War II. We were also the primary supplier of equipment to the Free French Army in Europe. The US also provided the bulk of soldiers that fought to liberate France in 1944 and 1945.

In 1949, France was one of the founding members of NATO.

In the 1950s we backed the French against the Viet Minh insurrection in Indo-China.

We, of course, had a very close relationship throughout the Cold War. The French also made up a sizeable amount of the forces that fought against Iraq in the 1991 Gulf War.

The French have sent soldiers to Afghanistan. Really the only thing we have major friction over is the current occupation of Iraq.

It should be noted that while the United States has waged open war against the United Kingdom twice, we, as an independent state, have never fought against the French.

Well its seems everyone is a target, but does it mean anything, the will attack the weakest or the strongest, the weakest if they are weak and the strongest to show dominance

Propably so, but the history doesn't mean much in cold real politics today or in simple people's minds. Tony Blair created a strong relationship between Great Britain and the USA, especially on George W. Bush. Jacques Chirac on the other hand, have taken distance from the USA.

About the subject: what can I say? Al-Qaeda is getting weaker and like masked_marsoe said, tries now to look stronger.

You are assuming that these are rational professors who like to sit in their armchairs and discuss Kant. They aren't. Wars between Civilizations are not won by rational discussions and motives, but by primal enthusiasm.

And it really doesn't matter since the last war between Christianity and Islam occured. It could have happened TEN thousand years ago, and they would still be angry about it. That's the thing about tribal societies. Past wrongs, real or imaginary, are not forgotten quickly, or easily.

The leaders of these movements will of course exaggurate their objectives. I doubt Osama really believes that Spain will be retaken (At least in the near future), but a counter-Reconquista is still a good banner to rally supporters to his cause.

Very true. I'm just trying to help slow down the Francophobic attitude of so many people in my country.

Isn' t this romantic? Two terrorist groups deciding to work together to kill as many men as possible, all with the Eiffel tower in the scenery?

The sad thing about this is that Al-Qaeda probably took France's name out of a hat. They obviously can't justify this.

Trust me, they have got some reasons. If I remember corectly, Al'quaeda still remembers the "scarf rebellion". France, by declaring itself a 100% secular state hasn't brought herself much love from the islamists around the world.

That is a cery intelligent and a noble act you are doing may I say. It is about time to see some non-francophobics americans here that can actually stand up a little for France.

if this justifies an attack then why dount christians in saudi arabia blow up something important there like oh i dount know..... (cough)...... christians largly discriminated agenst in saudi arabia, you get arrested for attending mass.
muslims in france already destroyed enough during the riots, after some stupid kid ran from the police and got electricuted by a power box.

yes i have read and watched on the news, muslims in france alot of times live in muslim ghettos. women get raped and people just look away. then the women get kicked out of the house because they arnt virgins anymore. im not making this up.
i wish we would go after this people like isreal did after they were attacked in the olympic park. they assasinate everyone involved. its messy but it gives a clear message not to get even close to people involved in this sort of activity.
im really getting tired of these problems in europe muslims are causing.

Re: Congratulations France, You're now on Al Qaeda's list

Terrorists and extremist will always find a reason to fuel hatred. Be it because a certain nation sents troops or supplies ("they are invading us") or because it doesn't ("they let us here to die!"). There isn't much more to add then that.

I won't even go into etremist filtering the news, for example they might be pissed at France it's "no signs of religion in public workplaces" and turn it into an "anti islam thing" by showing examples were muslims are affected. No need to mention christians being affected aswell.
