Ah. Did he say that they went into the houses for the sole purpose of terrorizing Iraqis? I know that if a bunch or armed men burst into my house, with guns at the ready, even if they had a purpose(like looking for weapons or terrorist leaders), I'd be plenty scared.

Please do not rationalize what the soldiers do compared to what the terrorists do to us. Does it make it any better for us to be stripping down prisoners to their bare ass and piling them up? Yes, terrorists are awful people who will stop at nothing to make us miserable and torture soldiers for fun. However, it doesn't make it right for us to be doing similar things...

Of course. Most of our soldiers (hopefully) know how to behave themselves, but sometimes stuff like that makes me wonder if these incidents are so isolated after all...

I do agree with you there, what they did at that particular prison was wrong. I do think that stuff like that can be used to extract information and whatnot, but they took it too far and made it a joke and a game.

Calm down people. We didn't really know what happened, but if indeed the media is right, then those marines should be prosecuted and given long sentences. Not for what they did but more for discracing the marine corps. And don't compare them with terrorists because if they are doing what the terrorists are, then what makes them better?

And last but not least, if indeed it did happen, there should be no excuses. Just because your friend died and you lost your mind is not an excuse. You signed up for the job, your committed to the very end.

I respect the soldiers, but we have to agree many of them are not fit for the job. Mentally at least.
