Watch TV, listen to NPR, read The New York Times, listen to a Kennedy, Kerry, Gore, Feingold, Reid, or Clinton speech, visit MoveOn.org, look at Michael Moore, et cetera et cetera.

Progress is being made. Things would be in the freaking gutter if Kerry were president right now.

Your paradigm is so intrinsic to your mental process that you are hardly aware of its existence, until you try to communicate with someone with a different paradigm.

It's quite common, and all is forgiven.

Well, you said Farenheit 9/11 was good, so all is forgiven.

He was addicted to pain killers for a few months after two failed back surgeries. Get out.

It certainly makes all this dribble you're shoveling out hard to take seriously.

When all else fails. Criticize, condemn, and complain right? heh

Well, I'm gonna stop attacking your character, because I actually like nearly all of what you say, so, there.

And. I haven't been infused with this "paradigm" you seem to think I'm stuck in. Maybe it's a phase. I've been reading a load of books on the subject lately, maybe that's it. I'm going to bed.

I wouldnt trade my life for anyones. I get to visit weird and interesting places people and cultures. Jump out of aircraft with a reasonable degree of safety. Tell officers what i want them to do and fire shiat loads of ammunition that i dont have to pay for from weapons that i dont have to perform maintaince on. I wear a spiffy uniform. Get paid a pretty comfortable wage. Drive a nice car and have free health and dental. Sex life is active and i get PAID to get educated. How sweet is that?!
yes that's the life I wanted but I can't.

What's stopping you? Family, health?

I consider myslef quite lucky. Not incredibly lucky, as some things I have missed out on which I attribute to bad luck, but mainly lucky. I don't have to worry about food, if nothing happens to my parents, then my current roof will remain over my head, I have enough clothes, and enough electronics to choke a mule. I don't have a car, or a horse or a gun, but I have a nice bed, a nice laptop, go to a decent school, can drink water here with no health problems (remember to boil water you are unsure about), so yeah, I'm lucky.

Then we can make a promise.

When we graduate, get paid work and so on, we'll be contibuting money to the unfortunate. Just don't forget this thread.

(Unless someone here is a fan of Rush Limbaugh and thinks charity and the Good Samaritan are evil.)

i kinda feel bad when i spend money on entertainment. like i paid $50 for battlefield 2 yet some african cant get 50 cents to feed his kids. but i guess this is how life is. its unfair. also i have a question. why do poor people who can barley feed themselves get their wife pregnant and have a lot of kids. it makes no sense to me. and is just plain ignorant.

The old habits. Before, in that place, it was not rare that someone would only live 40 years.

Guess that they needed to procreate a lot.

Re: Ever think how lucky you are?

Because then you have more people in a family who can work for money...
If one man can get 50c, and a child can get 10c, if you have 5 children, then they will have doubled your income. Then they will grow into adults, and earn more money.

Of course, this makes the problem worse in the long run, and the cycle will just keep on going on and on like this until something radical happens.

Yea I know I am lucky to live here and have the family that I do. Thats why I contribute to charities and other organizations that help the less fortunate. I would hope that other people do the same thing.

Re: Ever think how lucky you are?

I'm aware of it rand think about it almost regulary. I was just lucky to be born in the location and enviroment I was born in. There is not much we can do except trying to build up our own stable life and trying to help others to achief the same. This doesn't equal mindless money dumping since that makes people lazy, we should encourage others to work and hand them the tools to grow anslong as they dont parasite).

Give a man a ppcket full of money everyday and he won't get of his ass and improve, help him up, encourage him to work and help him apply and get a job and roof above his head and he will work from there. :)
