Many people are too short-sided to realize that, sadly.
Although I do not participate in chat rooms, I think the fact that the goverment is being allowed to do this is disgusting. I agree that if people are too passive and/or too ignorant to be conscious of freedoms that they are being denied, and take no action against it, then they are getting what they deserve.
That isn't taking away anything. You can say whatever you want through the program, it's just being monitored. What's so bad about that?
It's funny because these are the same people who are the ones complaining about safety and another terrorist attack. Seriously, there aren't many people on these forums who are "important" enough that are going to be the first target a terrorist group is going to strike.

um, wouldn't it be just as affective to have a CIA guy make name and just hang out in the chat room? I think you guys are makin a fuss about it because it says "Spy" and "Moniter"...
