The 2004 Election Update Thread

Right this should only last for a few hours, but anyway.

The current figures stand, to the best of my knowledge, at 189 Electoral College votes for George Bush and 195 Electoral Votes for Kerry.
It would be nice if people displayed the scores like this:

BUSH: 189
KERRY: 195

It would also be nice if some kind soul would post the winner when the time comes. I don't want this turning into yet another argument on who will win and who is better etc so if you are looking for that go here.

All I can say is Good Luck to both sides!

Ok I was a bit uninformed about the results so far - here they are now:

BUSH: 261
KERRY: 262

Pressure is mounting as either side has only 8 or nine votes to go before winning as the majority.

reven, I'm really fed up with your double posts. For the last time, use the edit button. (for me, to delete is faster than to edit, FYI)

Re: The 2004 Election Update Thread

Sorry 'bout that - I really should. When have I double posted before? I only remember double posting right when I joined a couple of times.

Anyway the scores are still the same - Anyone know which states have still to announce the winner?

Re: The 2004 Election Update Thread

Yea, it was similar in my school. I didn't participate in the mock election though.

DeaditeDan November 2nd, 2004 02:55 PM

Re: The 2004 Election Update Thread

Well Bush got 64 votes in our mock election, Kerry got 28, Badnarik got 3, and about 50 people didn't vote in it lol. I go to a very small school, btw.

Well states like Texas and Idaho are a given for the Republicans, so I don't see these mock elections in our schools as indicative of Bush winning. Do you think Kerry winning a mock election in California schools(except for perhaps the OC) would be indicative that he'd win the election? Absolutely not.

I'm just wondering how these elections are going in Pennyslvania, Ohio, Iowa, Colorado, and Florida...

Btw, your state is ugly :p I mean, yeah, Texas may have a lot of dumb Bush-backers, but hey, its still a damn pretty place. The piney woods of the Northeast part of the state where I hail from, are just majestic. Idaho is just damn ugly. I went there once a few years ago, bleak, flat, no trees for miles...

Re: The 2004 Election Update Thread

Well, at my school the vote went 63% Kerry, 27% Bush, 5% Nader, and 5% Not Voting. I have already placed my vote for Senator Kerry and I am hopeful.

I am really hoping for a Bush win. Kerry is not fit in mind or soul to lead America. Bush is.

Not neccesarily. If Bush is able to take Ohio and Florida (which, showing by the ballot counts, is almost certain) then California has virtually a nil effect on Kerry's standings since he's already down so far.

It'll be tomorrow before we know anything. The popular vote is gonna be a dead heat, I hope this whole electoral vote debate doesn't start up again.

i've been looking at a bunch of different news stations, and they all have different numbers, but all of them have bush in the lead at the moment.

Re: The 2004 Election Update Thread

As of now...BUSH 246 KERRY 206

I would give Kerry Minnesota and Michigan putting him at 234.

Nevada, Iowa, Wisconsin, and New Hampshire are at a 1% margin in Kerry's favor. A total of 26 electoral votes up for grabs.

A 3% margin in Ohio and New Mexico in Bush's favor. 25 votes there...

And let's not forget Hawaii and Alaska. The 7 final votes....can anyone predict this one?
It's gonna be close!

Red Menace November 2nd, 2004 09:42 PM

Re: The 2004 Election Update Thread

I predict Bush as the winner picking up Ohio, New Mexico, Alaska and possibly Nevada. But Ohio is really going to decide it.

DeaditeDan November 2nd, 2004 09:44 PM

Re: The 2004 Election Update Thread

Bush: 266 Kerry:221

We'll we're fucked now, and Pravda-I mean, FOX News has called Ohio for Bush...

obijon1138 November 2nd, 2004 09:47 PM

Re: The 2004 Election Update Thread

pffft...FOX:rolleyes:

Bush gets New Mexico and Alaska putting him at 254
Kerry gets New Hampshire and Hawaii putiing him at 232

Bush still holds the popular vote, but all has not been tallied on the west coast....

Red Menace November 2nd, 2004 09:51 PM

Re: The 2004 Election Update Thread

Iowa is now a dead heat with it about 50/50.

Gale_Force14 November 2nd, 2004 09:57 PM

Re: The 2004 Election Update Thread

Bush: 246
Kerry: 207
(pfft) Nader: ZERO

Looking good for bush, it's projected he'll take ohio, a key point in this election. I he does, there's little hope for Kerry, although if Kerry can take the Urban areas he has a fighting chance.

Not so fast, we haven't won yet. Kerry could still win every other state. Or those absentee ballots. Don't get out the champagne yet.

lmao fox says that busg has 196 votes and kerry 138 while it actually is 149 (bush) versus 142 (kerry). Source: both CNN and all dutch news channels (www.amerikakiest.nl).

Bush is almost certain to win but there is still a very small chanche that kerry wins. It probably is going to be bush though :(

It pains me to say that it's most likely to be Bush's second stint as President...

I'd kinda like to say "Har-de-har, good luck Americans," but for the fact that we British will likely have Blair back in next year, so you'll be running US once again! :banghead:

Oh well, I imagine they're sweating in Iran right now!
