Michael Moore
Smitty025
June 23rd, 2004 08:45 PM
Now I know this news is fairly old, but I was recently reminded of it after seeing an ad for his movie.

Now, if I remember correctly, he stated that he had video of the prisoners abuses long before any high government offical learned of these happenings. He did not release these videos because he thought people would think he released them only to get publicity for his movie.

I think that this was a very wrong and hurtful decision. I cant believe someone would be so stupid as to let people be brutally tortured because you were afraid people would think you were pulling a publicity stunt. On a radio show a caller brought up the point that Nick Berg might still be alive if these video were released earlier. I, however, feel that he would still have been killed because those terrorists would still 'seek revenge' for the prisoners that were tortured. I still think that Michael Moore was an absolute idiot to let these abuses occur while he had evidence that could stop them.

Although, as I write this, I wonder if he really did have those tapes at all or just said it afterwards to do the thing he said he was trying not to, get publicity for himself and his movie.

No Smitty, he didn’t have any proof of prisoner abuse or he should be tried and found guilty along with the rest of them presently. No way did he have intelligence before the higher ups per se, Impossible.

Michael Moore had no evidence anymore than you or I would suspect this type of abuse happening in any prison across America, or any other part of the world. It happens, and you’re not a crystal ball reader to throw the subject out there like fish bait for readers to gobble up

Micheal Moore is nothing more than a cheap whore publicity artist out to make a buck. What he has to offer will soon fade and he will be out on the streets, possibly found at a corner near you.

He in my opinion is one of the ugliest persons to ever be born on this planet, in a non deformed way. And he overexagerates his clames WAYYYY to far.

I suppose he never had the tapes, but he does seem like a kinda guy who would do such a thing.

I actually want to see his movie, just to see waht he puts in it, although I dont want to give money for him to line his pockets with.

Well even if he had those tapes and pictures, if he released them would you think they were real?

Well he sure isn't Fabio, but his appearance plays not role whatsoever on his ability to direct documentaries, which he is quite skilled at.

Well only a little but in a way to prove his point, obviously. I've seen almost all his films (Bowling for Columbine, Roger & Me, Pets or Meat: The Return to Flint and Canadian Bacon) and noticed that he only exaggerates his claims in Bowling for Columbine (and Canadian Bacon, but thats a comedy movie that pokes fun at American and Canadian stereotypes).

I want to see Farenheit 9/11 and can probably get into the theatre to see it here. I know its Rated R in the US, but in Canada, most films are brought down one level than their American rating so it will probably something like AA or PG-13 or something (I can't remember the stupid ratings anyway). It did win the Palme D'or at Cannes so its bound to be good.

Michael Moore worries. It's good for democracy (or what it remains about it). USA needs more people like him. The world needs more people like him. I love this man.
