Human Powers

I was just looking in the General Forum and say stuff about human powers. I personlly think that noone can have x-ray vission or telepathic. What do you think?

Mr. Matt February 12th, 2004 05:52 PM

Re: Human Powers

Well, X-ray vision isn't particularly likely because, well, our eyes can't emmit x-rays.
But although I don't believe in telepathy, I'm not closed off to the possibility. We barely use the whole of our mind - and even the small fraction isn't fully understood. While I think it's just... y'know, there to make up the space, possibly something like a 'memory upgrade', something like that... till we know for sure, we can't rule out what the rest of our brain could be used for.

DragonNick February 12th, 2004 06:23 PM

Re: Human Powers

yea we only use 10% of our brains and that other 90% could be uber powerful. but besides telepathy, how about ki? or chi? martial artists (some of them) say it gives them super human powers. (ki would be mind chi would be body/soul for the uninformed). and i believe buddhism/hinduism may believe in it.

Mr. Matt February 12th, 2004 06:37 PM

Re: Human Powers

Meh, I don't know enough (anything beyond what you just told me, actually, lol) about them to make a judgement

DragonNick February 12th, 2004 06:45 PM

Re: Human Powers

o well there was this one guy who said he could channel his ki by rubbing his hands together and he did it and the cloth he was rubbing started to steam! (it was wet) pretty weird if you ask me...

Mr. Matt February 12th, 2004 06:54 PM

Re: Human Powers

Oh, that sort of stuff. Well, I've never actually seen it first-hand, so I can't say I believe it (like telepathy, I've never experienced it or known someone who has, and the TV stuff is so obviously staged it's laughable - so I'm dubious on current non-scientific claims regarding that). But, like I said, if the brain could somehow create that heat (perhaps by consciously controlling the electro-chemical impulses, or just out-right body temperature, and heating the hand up somehow?), or do something to cause that, we wouldn't know till we figured the whole thing out. So I'm open minded.

DragonNick February 12th, 2004 06:55 PM

Re: Human Powers

yea, same here. it'd be cool to do that. very cool

Mr. Matt February 12th, 2004 07:08 PM

Re: Human Powers

Heh, if all humans are destined to get some sort of powers like these, I don't think we'll be seeing it happen in our lifetimes ;)

CorT February 12th, 2004 07:18 PM

Re: Human Powers

yeah, like matts first post, we've got no clue what the rest of our brain is for....

MonsterMuddy February 12th, 2004 07:21 PM

Re: Human Powers

I will believe that kie crap if some guy does that with no tricks. There is such thing as smoke powder.

ManiK February 12th, 2004 07:21 PM

Re: Human Powers

Actually it's been proven that we dont only use just 10% of our brains, as there are different parts that control and interperet so many different things.

Mr. Matt February 12th, 2004 07:56 PM

Re: Human Powers

Theoretically we could use the whole thing... to find out, scientists would have to put that monitoring equipment on someone' head for their entire life, exposing them to everything possible...

ScOrPY February 13th, 2004 01:04 AM

Re: Human Powers

If our brains used 100% we would pwn :)

myself February 13th, 2004 01:08 AM

Re: Human Powers

Well maybe we can "create" super humans. Like Wolverine or Lady Deathstrike from "The X-men".

ScOrPY February 13th, 2004 01:20 AM

Re: Human Powers

But we would already be super, and there would be no need for them :)

I think someone could, simply because I'm not a genetic expert and I won't say someone is lying just Because I myself can't do it.

Mexmadman February 13th, 2004 12:10 PM

Re: Human Powers

It's possible i guess...if it did happen, i reckon it would be caused by some abnormality or mutation.

Yeah but I just mean see-through-clothes so it inly sees through clothes material and not flesh :) Plus vision when you can adjust what you want to see through

Thats the website about the girl, incase you can't read cyrillic it they basicly goes into about how she was able to disproved several medical diagnoses and has not made any mistakes. A series of medical experiments conducted in one of the clinics provide substantial and undeniable proofs of the girls' unique abilities.

Re: Human Powers

I read about something called "far seing", which was a technique to project images of remote locations or objects in a human mind. A person would hand draw the images he saw of whatever he was "aiming" at. Could be militarybases, could be photographs on a table, a car etc.. The goup was founded by the CIA during the cold war, and later by the army before being officially closed down. The remaining group members did more experiments, one of them was to predict the economical changes in the silver market. On 2 different occasions they predicted the fall & rise of the silver prices over a pretty big time gap.

I belive the human mind is capable of quite a bit. Im just curious weither or not gifts like "far seing" is unique to some people or if everyone has the potential.

Re: Human Powers

It depends, with the right chemicals in your eyes you could have X-Ray vision, and with the right neaural network and quantum state-of-being telepathy could also work. The scientists call it "Affinity."

Re: Human Powers

Yeah I can actually see through peoples clothes. It only works on women for some reason though. Oh well.

Edit-I should be more specific. It only works on women who are under 190 pounds.
