Agreed.... Thumbtacks, I'm sure not eating it. And 9, I may get HL2 ep 2 for Portal, and if I like that, I'll get the others in the HL series

To 5: You can't play Episode 2 (well you can) without playing the other games. The storyline is the strongest part of any Half-Life and missing out on some of it can be very confusing.

Pure truth. Storyline is the point of Half-Life series, then around it are build the gameplay, physics, graphics, overall engine performance, atmosphere, immersion...
Do yourselve a favour and start from Half-Life.

hey!! so guys i know this forum may not be the correct place to ask this question........but i recently bought half life 2....installed it and all that stuff, but everytime i put in the disk, and the autorun comes up, i click on play half life 2, this damm steam update keeps on popping up and the game never starts. then the steam update never finishes updating and i cant get to play the game. Im desperate, and i would really love to know what to do to stop this so i can play my game in peace.... why everytime i click on play game this steam update pops up, why does it never update, and how can i fix this to play my game...HELPPPP!!!!!

Welcome to the forums zamaushi.
You have to have Steam installed and fully updated to play Half-Life 2, then you'll also have to decipt Half-Life 2 and update teh game itself. So basically you need to ahve it all online throughout the installation, and be patient.
And yeah, this should be posted in a bit different forum.

The 'relaxation chamber' is the box in the middle of the room, note the bed. It's made of windows, but has no doors. There is a door to the room that the vault itself is in to the left of the vault(view from feed.)

Q: What is the second thing on the 'cake recipe'? The one that costs tons of money?

I referred only to the room in the midle of the chamber, and in my opinion, glass doesn't make for a window. I rather like to call windows things wich I can open too.
