Your getting to fancy with the overlays and it is degrading the pictures. Start trying some new techinques. And I think it's time you bust out GIMP or PS if you haven't already.

Hmm...I was only experimenting. That is the second image I have ever done overlay in. I'll try gimp soon enough.

I made a version of the image above without the symbol. Also I'm starting on making a new sort of image. *note these images are just to get my talent up. I'll continue on sigs. later.* It has concrete in it like some sigs. I've seen around on Graphic editor forums and others. Here it is:

Here's a gif. I made. I know it doesn't flow or look realistic, but it's pretty cool for my first.
