I've played it a hundred times on other pc's, even on this pc, but now it does not want to launch. I click the exe and i get the spinning cd icon, but then, nada. I'm not getting some error screen or so, just nothing.

Small note: I updated my GPU drivers to the latest in the meanwhile i think. My downloads are out, so i'm not going to download an older version (Dl is a 10kbps now )

I've tried re-installing the game. I have the second edition i guess (DVD version)

I got it working with the old drivers, but now i get less performancein other games like Crysis and stuff.. :/

Any solution?

Try deleting your "GTA San Andreas User Files" folder in the "My Documents" Folder.
I also had something like this before, and after that it worked.
But remember: All of your settings will be lost after this! If you changed your key settings etc, you will have to configurate them again.

PS: If you have a savegame in that "GTA San Andreas User Files" folder, put them out of the folder before deleting it, otherwise you will lose your game progress.
