| Hallo! This is the second edition to the Test Your Musical Knowledge thread! (thread can be found by going to the Music Forum, then looking for "Test Your Musical Knowledge.") This version is much harder, but as before... 1. No cheating, this includes -looking up answers -looking at other peoples answers -other methods of cheating 2. Put your answers or your whole post in spoiler codes. After you answer all of them, I will shortly send you a PM about how you did, and a grade on your performance. Your performance will be added up for the difficulty of the question. Copy the following and answer in your reply to this thread (with spoilers wrapped around it) QUESTIONS: 1. How many different types of concert Tubas are there? 2. If you're playing a piece of music in Concert Bflat ; what key would you be in on an alto saxophone? 3. What is the traditional name for a trombone with one trigger/valve? 4. Referring to Q#3, what is this trigger/valve formally named? 5. How many different types of Saxophone are there? 6. Referring to Q#5, which of those is in the highest octave? 7. On a musical piece, what does the symbol or mean? (if you have any trouble seeing those symbols, leave this answer blank and I'll give you an alternate.) 8. The word "Legato" means to play _______. A) Sharp, marching style B) Smooth, connected C) Soft D) Loud E) None of the above 9. Why do concert french horn players put their hand into the bell of the instrument? 10. If you are playing a piece of music in the key of Concert Bflat with a Bflat trumpet, you would play in which key? (Similar to Q#1, but switch 'alto saxophone' with 'trumpet') BAND QUESTIONS LVL 1 1. What popular band made the song titled 'Open Arms?' 2. What movie was made after the life of a typical short lived rock-star? 3. What band made the song titled 'Viva la Vida?' Would you like to see the answers on your PM sheet when you receive it? (Yes/No)

| Hmm, well see, this is more of a musical instrument test, not musical knowledge really. Even music theory would be closer to what I had in mind from the title (Like questions 7 & 8). The other questions are much more specific to band/orchestra instruments, and not really "common knowledge" when it comes to music. If I had stuck with band though, I'm sure I'd be able to answer most of those. Good quiz though, I just think the title needs a little revision.
