Join Date: February 14th, 2004 Rep Power: 30 | Re: Guitar building Google is your friend. Some parts (pickups, bridges, tuning keys, etc) are quite easy to find. Others (bodies and necks, mostly) aren't. I don't even know what you'd do for a fingerboard, unless you can buy necks with them already attached. You'll probably also have a bit of fun finishing the body; most blank bodies that I've seen are sanded but not otherwise treated in any manner.
I've seen quite a few good sites in the past. The reason I'm not linking them is because you'd do well to hunt around, both due to potential price differences and the fact that some sites are more helpful than others. I'd also suggest checking out some guitar-oriented forums as well, even if I don't know of any particularly good communities offhand. |
