Good Metal band for me I'm looking for a new metal band I can get into. I don't listen to lots of bands just Iron Maiden and 'Tallica so I want another band of that calibre. |
That is a tall order you want there!! But have you tried Megadeth or Slayer Or maybe even Testament or Pantera!? Frankly New Metal bands nowadays can hardly hold a candle to the two bands you already mentioned. |
I've listened to Slayer and I couldn't stand them, I'll see if I've got some Pantera on my MHD. |
Motorhead, Kreator, Anthrax and Destrution are good. If you want something a bit different try Soilwork, In Flames or Moonsorrow(They're melodic metal) |
Maybe try the early work of OverKill? Also I have heard of a band called Tobruk, which is, although a little hair metal, pretty good. |
Try Lamb of God, or Shadows Fall. And Anthrax are great |
Manowar hands down...Go get Gods of War best album by them. |
Machine head!! their early works(Burn my eyes album and The more things change album) as well as Fear Factory(Demanufacture is arguably their best album) when both the vocals weren't rapping yet. I think you can still find their early albums since these guys started out in te early to mid nineties. |
Oh, machine head rock! They stood in for BfmV at Metallica Wembley. I've got Burn my Eyes. Fear Factory are OK but their not my style. |
Maybe try Dream Theater, they are a progressive metal band of sorts. Their early stuff is alot more progressive, if you like that in music. |
I listened to a bit of Dream Theater, that song you told Sino to rate, it was OK. I've got Gods of War by Manowar. It's very good. |
The Answer Silicon Messiah From the Carnival of Horrors |
motley crue and vains of jenna. and pantera too :D but if you want really brutal metal. Elysia. but im sure thats too hard if you listen to metallica and maiden.. |
Ozzy Osbourne. |
Halford has got some pretty heavy shit, I've only got one of his albums - he's got a great voice. If you want to try something a little heavier and faster, check out Children of Bodom. |
Yeah I remember Rob Halfords the little solo/side project Fight the two alums were War of Words And the EP A small deadly space correct!? |

Ozzy (Black Sabbath) is the only metal I listen to, definitely worth checking out. |
Thank you so much wasturr for telling me about Manowar, I think they are equal to, if not better, than Iron Maiden. *Hugs* |
Not better for starters, but shure, it is very good music. Ever tried Venom? They are not better though, but are probably one of the first Black metal bands. Their first album is from 1981, and sounds heavier than Maiden sounded in 1981. |
I'm not a black metal fan, especially if it sounds anything like slayer. |
I does not sound like slayer, because it is not Thrash metal. Plus, Venom is an English band(means it mostly is better at black metal). Venom sounds like they come from the sewer, but in a good way. |
First of all : hi people !!! Wasturr, dude - wassup ?! If anyone of u r like me than we need to be called a metal nation. jk  @DisturbingSam : i have collection of those bands - Immortal, Death (Chuck Schuldiner, R.I.P.), SOAD, Disturbed, Sepultura. Wanna add to this collection some couple of albums from Pantera & also Machine Head (the first 2 albums). If this is your course too, than i glad that i helped u. Keep the good Head Banging, m8 !!! :) |
Yeah, Venom are a great band. And one of Metallica's (Lars Ulrich's in particular) early main influences. They were very into NWOBHM. |
I've recently listened to Blind Guardian, their early work (which I don't like that much) has a lot of speed/thrash metal elements. Nowadays it could be described as a mix of progressive/power metal. |
For some reason early Iron Maiden comes to mind. But most important "Fear of the Dark" track, don't know which album is it in. Don't rule out Megadeth & Morgoth - the German metal band. In particular their "Odium" album, had it myself, "Drowning Sun" track is one of my favs. |

try dimmu borgir. its black metal, but one of the smarter black metal bands. theyre not just "satan satan satan." and if your into metallentless. try rammstein, there pretty good. very metallisuck influenced. or perhaps 3 inches of blood. and how do you not like slayer!? and you should deffinitly like cannibal corpse. theyre the ultimate death metal band or perhaps black dahlia murder. theyre a thrashier death metal and have you ever seen the show metalokalypse? |
Dimmu Borgir? Bleh. They may not be "Satan Satan Satan" but they reinforce Black Metal's Dorky Ass Fashion. Corpse paint is fine, but what's with all the fucking spikes? It looks impractical. |
cause its just that. black metal :D thats just part of the black metal look. ohhh, and I forgot kreator. AMAZING 80's thrash metal band. and unlike most bands you hear baout, their newer stuff is way better than their older stuff. |
Dimmu Borgir aren't Black Metal lol. Anyway, if you like Maiden and Metallica, here a some bands I suggest: Motorhead, Diamond Head, Saxon, Overkill, Testament, Kreator, Destruction, Nuclear Assault. I know tons of other bands, but that list will do. |
like I said. they may nto be totally black metal. but they do fall under that catagory. and they certainly do have black metal themes |
