Holy Pain are some seriously good listening, and free, too. Download the album, it's all legal, they released it themselves over t'internets. It hooked me on first listen.

They sound a little similar to Iron Maiden in a few ways...

My review:

"Holy Pain are the best thing to come out of France since the renaissance, seriously. There are now a lot of French bands on the metal scene, Gojira just to name one, but Holy Pain whoops their ass mercilessly. The only thing to come out of this album is exactly what it says - pure, undiluted, metal. It makes you want to get up and dance, especially to songs like 'Last Sigh' and 'No Regret'.

The fast melodies on this album give it something that even the most famous bands like Stratovarius and Dream Theater long for - getting their fans to not like their stuff because it's unconditional, but simply because it is really something special, how many bands can say that?

The intro to 'Nuclear' is well thought out, and really sums the whole album up. This album will make you want to headbang throughout - not to be missed."
