Lets' talk Led Zeppelin

I noticed in other topics that a fair few people seem to like Led Zeppelin. So, in the generalness of everything, I made a Led Zeppelin discussion thread.

I have The Untitled Fourth Album, Physical Graffiti, and the Song Remains the Same DVD. I also have videos for live versions of Kashmir, Achilles Last stand, Since I've Been Loving you, Immigrant song and The Ocean.

I love Led Zeppelin, they are one of my favourite bands.

How about you guys?

MrFancypants May 4th, 2007 06:18 PM

I really like "Kashmir", but apart from that I don't know a lot of their songs.

Unifermius Matty May 5th, 2007 10:18 AM

Kashmir's great, especially at the knebsworth concert.

Likewise other than I know a couple, like the Immigrant Song and of course Stairway to Heaven, those are the only ones I've heard on the radio a lot here.

Led Zepplin II is one of my favourite albums and I think one of their best. 'Thank you' is one of their best songs IMO. I don't really know why, but I really like it. But all the other songs on there are great. "What is and what should never be" is good to. Hell, they're all good.

I love Led Zeppelin.

John Bonham is my idol!

Moby Dick and Stairway to Heaven are (One of many) great drum and guitar pieces respectively.

Unifermius Matty May 6th, 2007 09:01 AM

^ Indeed.

I like "Ten Years Gone" alot, too.

Mad Cat May 6th, 2007 06:09 PM

I have the best of. I love it. I...can't...stop...listening...to...it...must...re sist...

Oh and stairway to heaven is also a great drumming masterpiece, when it starts. I love to drum that song, even when it's not "my drumming style".

Snow_Flake May 6th, 2007 06:16 PM

I couldnt agree more.

I have all 4 untitled albums, Coda, Houses of the Holy, and Physical Graffiti. My favorites are Stairway to Heaven (naturally. :p), Rock & Roll, Black Dog, Misty Mountain Hop, Whole Lotta Love, How Many More Times, and of course being a drummer myself, Moby Dick.

On a related tangent...when I straighten my hair and start sweating later on, it starts to curl up but not all the way, and my hair ends up looking exactly like Robert Plant's. It's the closest I've ever been to God. :p

Lol, thats awesome.

How many of you have seen "The Song Remains the Same" I tell you what, at some points it drags on, but it is a brilliant concert film.

Mastershroom May 10th, 2007 01:39 PM

I've never seen the full thing, but I've watched bits and pieces on Fuse TV.

If I recall correctly, that was the first footage of Bonham playing the Ludwig Amber Vistalite drums (the transparent ones). Now that set is actually a collector's edition.

Ozzfest20 May 12th, 2007 11:38 AM

Led Zeppelin

All their songs are amazing but Hats off to Roy Harper. Their second only to Iron Maiden. I have all their studio recordings.

Unifermius Matty May 15th, 2007 08:13 PM

I might be getting Led Zeppelin III soon...

Ozzfest20 May 16th, 2007 08:05 PM

Dazed and Confused if their best song. Getting III would be a good choice, it has the Immagrant Song.

BladeV2 May 16th, 2007 08:14 PM

I like the slightly softer side of Zeppelin. Stuff like Good Times Bad Times, Ramble On, Living Loving Maid, Heartbreaker, etc. I also like Achilles Last Stand and Kashmir a lot, but i think the songs from II are better and a bit easier on the ears.

IG-756 May 17th, 2007 09:58 AM

i like most of the led zeppelins songs

Lukeh May 19th, 2007 10:14 AM

Led Zeppelin IV was their best album in my honest opinion. Stairway to Heaven, Black Dog, Battle of Evermore, Going to California, and When the Levee Breaks all on one album. Beautiful.

Not only that, but it seems to be their hardest to get sick of.

Cap'n Rommel May 25th, 2007 03:49 PM

personally I love Stairway to Heaven (for obvious reasons) and Over the hills and Far away.. oh yeah and not to forget D'yer Mak'er

Roger_Waters May 25th, 2007 10:03 PM

as mentioned above Phisical Grafitti and Led Zepplin II are the best

BladeV2 May 29th, 2007 07:49 PM

Definitely Led Zeppelin II. Heartbreaker, Ramble On, What is and Never Should Be, Whole Lotta Love... do I need to go on?
I don't like IV as much. Its actually the one I get tired of faster.
