At the moment, I'm really into the old stuff...well, I always have been, but not as heavily as I am now. Just bought myself an Adicts CD a couple days ago, and got London Calling by the Clash yesterday. I've had London Calling on a burnt CD, but I like getting the official releases.

Punk is underground and underground only. So no Kommandant Ros. NONE of the bands you listed are punk. lol, sorry.

I love Punk.
Some people hate punk.
but not me.
I love punk.
My favorite punk band is NOFX. they are awsome.
What do some of you think? What are your favorite punk bands/ songs/ cds.
Just talk about any kind of punk you like, or how you feel about punk... il listen.
NoFx is my fav. I liked war on errorism, there new one ( never trust a hippy) is good because it gives you a good idea on their views of religion.
Some other really good punk bands are anti flag, green day, Bad religion.
but NOFX is definately my favorite..
I would recommend that all of you ( if you dont all ready own) go buy the cd of there's entitled "The War on errorism" and see what you think of them.. its a really good cd.

Eh, NOFX have gone downhill. They just jumped on the political bandwagon like other bands have. It's overdone now. I think Punk in Drublic is their best CD. Check that out.
Also, just bought the Time Again CD. Not sure if anybody here has heard of them, but they are pretty cool. Play simple, kind of old-school sounding punk rock.

I like punk, and in my case, punk falls into several definitions. I like what you people tend to call "real" punk, such as the Ramones and Sex Pistols. I also like what I've heard as skater punk, or (to my dismay) bubblegum rock, like Blink-182 and Sum 41. I like the old Green Day, which has been called punk. Not to mention pretty much every band Kommandant Ross listed. I'd call 'em punk. Good call, Kommandant.
I hate it when people call me a poser for listening to what I listen to. Fuck that. I listen to it because it sounds good. I don't care if the band has a record label or if they changed their musical style a bit. If someone can't tolerate a bit of change, they're ignorant. I am not a poser. I fully enjoy the music I listen to. And I listen to it because I like it, not because I'm trying to prove anything.

My freind has the Time Again CD, I was listening today, it's pretty good.

All of the political stuff that bassicly every punk band is doing now is just a "political movement", or a phase as i see it.. when bush is out of office.. i wonder what antiflag will talk about in their music.. as with NOFX, and my biggest question is.. what will green day do.. will they go back to their old style (before american idiot) or just die out. i hope to god not, im really interested to see what their next move will be.. what do you guys think about this

The only Sum 41 song I like is Fat Lip
I prefer The Ramones, The Clash, The Offspring,
What about Indie?
Deerhoof has one WEIRD song called "Panda panda Panda" that is stuck in my head.

It could be, or it could just be the thing to do now. I'm not completely sure. And as for NOFX and Anti-Flag, they'll both be fine. Anti-Flag always has something to write about, and I'm really hoping they go back to their old style, though it doesn't look like they will. I love Die for your Government, and I wish they had more CDs like it.
And even now, NOFX has their old silliness still in them. I'm sure if they stop with the political songs, they will go right back to what they used to play, which would be fine with me.
As with Green Day, I'm not sure what they would do. I guess, keep on going with the political lyrics. There's enough crap going on in politics today, I'm sure they'll find SOMETHING to write about.
Also, what do you all think of the Dead Kennedys? I'm absolutely obsessed with this band, and I think Jello is a genius.
They re-released Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables as a 25th anniversary special edition. It includes a pretty cool DVD with live performances, and a documentary on the band. I suggest you get it, if you find it...that is, if you're into old-school political punk.

I bought the new NOFX cd, it is great, you should pick it up, I like it alot better than Errorism! Also, buy it from their site, it's cheapest and it goes mostly to NOFX, freakin amazin, 3 Gold albums and never been on MTV(because they don't want to)/ Major radio stations.
When they tightly strap me in, give me lethal injection,
Just a few moments to live, no remorse for what I did,
Was for the betterment of man, I gave the utmost sacrifice,
Before more damage could be done I took his life.
There was a split second of silence when the dart punctured the skin,
Beady eyes rolled back in head, the body dropped from the poison,
They could incapacitate me, but could not erase my sneer,
I heard a thousand people screaming, while three billion others cheered,
He was gone, and I would soon be...
Executed by the state, all appeals would be in vain,
I was not criminally insane, in fact I was found to be,
An otherwise caring and respectable member of society,
A minor threat except for that one man I killed.
As the sedatives take effect, I just smile, close my eyes,
There's a priest kneeling next to me, he asks me if I realize,
I was going straight to hell, and he thought that I should know,
That the man I killed's replacement planned this whole scenario,
And what I did had no significance at all.
