True Metal Comparison This is in response to that travesty of a thread comparing the gods of metal, Metallica, to two posers (Korn and Papa Roach. So, who will you inspire you to beat the shit out of someone today? Metallica? Slayer? Megadeth? Ahh, the choices... |
Re: True Metal Comparison slayer. |
Re: True Metal Comparison Megadeth  What does Death Metal got with the poll too do? None of them plays Death Metal and either if they did, they are not worthy to be compared to real Death Metal bands.:0wned: . Metallica is a band that shall be compared to KoRn since they both are for children, who cannot listen to the real deal. Metallica = The band kids love to love Slipknot = The band kids love to love KoRn = The band kids love to love |
Re: True Metal Comparison :nono: Metallica may be music kids love to love, but they don't play the same kind of music as Korn and the like. Korn likes synthasizers, listen to their remake of The Wall if you don't believe me. Metallica, Slayer, and Megadeth all use actualy musical instruments. ;) |
Re: True Metal Comparison Ok, this is a step in the right direction from the previous poll... but still doesn't get it quite right. Judging by the three choices, we seem to be talking about heavy--possibly speed or thrash?--metal. So where's Iron Maiden? Judas Priest? Pantera comes to mind again. Ah well... at least I can vote for Slayer and still be able to sleep at night. |
Re: True Metal Comparison Well, the other used three, so I used three as well. I was thinking about Pantera, but Slayer and Megadeth, at least where I am from, seem to be better known; as a result I went with them. |
Re: True Metal Comparison To a Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Motley Crue, Montrose and Scorpions fan, metallica and slayer seem like "fake" metal, so ive not voted |
Re: True Metal Comparison Metallica is awesome, don't be hatin'. Well, at least old Metallica. The new shit sucks ass. Slayer is pretty good, Raining Blood happens to be one of my favorite songs so... |
Re: True Metal Comparison Metallica/Slayer/Megadeth are all three Thrash-Metal. Korn is what is called New-metal ( nu-metal is a stupid word ). Quote:

Re: True Metal Comparison Since i haven't heard any megadeath songs I'd have to say Slayer. Although on personal preference i like metallica alot more, i just don't see metallica as a death metal band. |
Re: True Metal Comparison Metallica of course I grew up listening to them(cool parents they listen to the same music I do)Megadeath ows too but my vote was for Metallica. |
Re: True Metal Comparison Slayer  |
Re: True Metal Comparison I like metalicas version of whisky in the jar Ive not heard anything by either Korn or Megadeath so outta that list i gotta say metalica But really i like Disturbed as new-metal or whatever I just listen to whatever the hell i like and most of it somes under heavy metal |
Re: True Metal Comparison metallica hands down:bows: their not death metal though:uhm: |
Re: True Metal Comparison http://forums.filefront.com/images/smilies/band.gif :stallard::stallard::stallard::stallard::stallard: :stallard: :stallard::stallard::stallard::stallard::stallard: :stallard: I just heard some Megadeath and they aint bad |
Re: True Metal Comparison Maiden or Priest. |
Re: True Metal Comparison judas priest is best, started out back when my father was a motorcycle gang member, me and my dad still lisen to judas priest, and black sabbath, deep purple, 70s scorpions, montrose and ZZ top and judas priest went on into the 90s, now their reforming, can't get into all this new stuff, doesnt have that "rock" feel to it, just thrashing, lol, i even consider metallica, slayer, etc to be pretty, "new" sounding, either just mindless guitar thrashing or slightly harder grunge sounding!!!!!!!!! |
Re: True Metal Comparison Nice to see that heavy metal is still being viewed with some seriousness. A lot of the British stuff is still relished. I guess this is where I put in a plug for Motorhead. Metallica suffered greatly with the passing of Cliff Burton. I don't think they ever recovered. Slayer and Venom are still cool. Never really gave Megadeath much of an ear for no real good reason. But death metal? The bands that I heard call themselves "death" were rather lame IMHO. Twiddley-twiddley guitars, one string king basses and cookie monster sounding singers. Not my scene. If they're still around check out Sepelcure or somesuch. That's what I mean. |
