judas priest is best, started out back when my father was a motorcycle gang member, me and my dad still lisen to judas priest, and black sabbath, deep purple, 70s scorpions, montrose and ZZ top and judas priest went on into the 90s, now their reforming, can't get into all this new stuff, doesnt have that "rock" feel to it, just thrashing, lol, i even consider metallica, slayer, etc to be pretty, "new" sounding, either just mindless guitar thrashing or slightly harder grunge sounding!!!!!!!!!

Re: True Metal Comparison

Nice to see that heavy metal is still being viewed with some seriousness. A lot of the British stuff is still relished. I guess this is where I put in a plug for Motorhead. Metallica suffered greatly with the passing of Cliff Burton. I don't think they ever recovered. Slayer and Venom are still cool. Never really gave Megadeath much of an ear for no real good reason.
But death metal? The bands that I heard call themselves "death" were rather lame IMHO. Twiddley-twiddley guitars, one string king basses and cookie monster sounding singers. Not my scene. If they're still around check out Sepelcure or somesuch. That's what I mean.
