Neil Peart was the best hands down in my opinion. The drummer from Rush, Neil Peart, is awesome. The man makes any other drummer sound dirty and sloppy.

he is by far the greatest drummer

my favourite drummer has to be one of the all time GREATEST drummers Mike Portnoy just the way he plays a 30 peice drum kit as if it were a 6 peice, he has already been entered into the drummers all of fame.

My favs, in order:

Bonzo, Sandy Nelson, Ringo Starr, Clem Burke, Mr. Moon, Buddy Rich, Dave Grohl, and Phil Collins - (don't like his music though.)

Phil Collins is alright, but I do like his music however.

And I still consider Neil Peart to be above Bonham. I just think he knows more. They have both been playing as long as eachother though.

My favorite drummer would have to be Danny Carey. His unique beats are what put him above the good drummer such as Mike Portnoy (according to charts as well).

As for other drummers like Niel and all them, sure they're great. Just not my favorites. ;)

Eww, Laws Ulrich...lol. No offense if you like him or anything but he really isn't a good drummer.

Many people overlook Travis Barker as a drummer because he plays in a pop/rock band called Blink 182. However, he has exeptional skill as a drummer. If you have ever seen him live, you would know what I am talking about. He is very quick, and has good rythem.

i have seen him live, and yes, he has very good talent.

Lars isnt the best drummer, but he plays in a sick band:naughty:

John Bonham(Led Zeppelin)
John Desmore (The Doors)
Keith Moon (The Who)
One of Jethro Tulls many drummers.
Ralph Molina (Crazy Horse)
I don't really like Rush overall so I don't know how good Neil Peart is.

lmao Ringo is your 3rd favorite

Ringo was perfect for the Beatles but he isnt one of the greatest drummers, but then of course when he was around and espically during their concerts (with the constant screaming in the background) Ringo really had no choice but to just try and keep the tempo at their concerts they could barely hear themselfs he's not a bad drummer he's just not up with the very best

He has no musical talent, he just hits things together and doesn't play with the band. I don't even consider him a musician because of his shit fit with napster.

I think Metallica had the guts to step up and do something not many other bands would even think of doing.

Maybe so, but I don't think that's any reason to stop listening to their music. (I listen to the music for what it is, I don't care what the members have done)

they already had more money than they could ever spend unless of course lars decided to spend all his money on cymbals that he has neither the knowlege or the need to use

they didnt bitch to napster

they sued them shut them down then went after ***** and all those other filesharing places and they wont stop till they have shut down all file sharing and made millions while doing and bands dont usually make most of their money off of cd's they make a lot of it, and most of it for some bands, off of concerts

Ok, I changed my mind, the Napster thing was greedy. I guess I got caught up in defending Metallica (my favorite band), sorry.

how eva much i hate Lars he does do some impressive drumming(not as good as Mike Portnoy tho) for example: in one show there was a bridge running ova the crowd and in the middle of a show he grabbed the snare drum and ran accross the bridge still playin the snare and sat at anotha drum kit at the back of the crowd. that is about the only good thing he has done.

Yes, I've heard of them both. I've also heard them both. And neither comes close to qualifying as one of my favourite drummers.

Deal with it.

most of the drumming lars does is just random stuff that he thinks is cool and i too could run across a bridge carrying a snare and play random shi* on the drum but because, i am not in a famous band and i dont get paid millions to play random shi* on drums, i would look like an idiot doing to

but that is nothing compared to the hour long drum solos that John Bonham would do at concerts

Bonham's Moby Dick blows those guys away. Nothing ever really compared to bonham in concert, its hard to believe anyone would be able to master his amazing control.

Re: favorite drummers

just accept the fact that not everyone wants to dig up john bonham and sodomize his remains, because he was the "godfather" ? of drumming... people have different tastes in music mek, and i dont think C38368 cares that no one could "master his amazing control" mabe you and jimmy could start a religion where you convert people to led zeppelin, they could worship them and think how much better they were than other bands because they have some stolen guitar riffs, a guy who can play drums really fast, and if you listen close enough you just might hear a bass line.

Its amazing how a hypocrite such as you was unbanned by me, all you talk about in the guitar section is the fact that David Gilmour is the greatest. Wow incredible, because you like Pink Floyd he is the best. I stated the Jimmy Page was a great guitarist but not the best. Unfortunatley for you, your head is so far up your ass, you would be able to tell what a great drummer was.

I spent years in my bedroom -- literally fucking years -- listening to Bonham's drums and trying to emulate his swing or his behind-the-beat swagger or his speed or power. Not just memorizing what he did on those albums but getting myself into a place where I would have the same instinctual direction as he had. I have John Bonham tattoos all over my body -- on my wrists, my arms, my shoulders. I gave myself one when I was fifteen. It's the three circles that were his insignia on Zeppelin IV and on the front of his kick drum.

Its my opinion that he was the best, because as a drummer, his style is nearly impossible to emulate, and other drummers agree with me.

Sorry to tell you this, but if I could play 1 Pink Floyd song, I could play all of them.
