Kicked from servers.. why? Hey everyone, I used to play spearhead ALL the time, then I kind of got out of it. I now have a new computer and would like to see how SH works with the new system. I just installed it and downloaded the patches through 2.15. I keep getting kicked from servers every time I get into one. Is there something else I need to download or install to be able to play now? Thanks in advance! |
Are you getting kicked as soon as it starts loading, right when the map's done loading, or after you actually join the game? Are you getting any error message? |
It kicks me as soon as I enter the room, before I have a chance to do anything. No error messages. Thanks! |

Do you mean that as soon as you start to join a server, it just goes back to the main menu room? That's usually an indication that you don't have the map being played, or are otherwise incompatible with the server. If you'd tried a number of different servers, then you might have some corrupted files. Make sure that you have the 2.15 patch installed, and maybe reinstall it if you still have the file. Is Allied Assault working? |
Yes, as soon as I enter the server (I get in just long enough to see a couple of buildings, and maybe get to pick axis or allied) then it kicks me back to the main menu. I know I don't have any non-stock maps so I only join servers that are playing stock maps. I haven't tried just AA but I will! So, there is no new patches or other software that would help this problem? Should I maybe just try reinstalling? Thanks a bunch! |
Definitely try Allied Assault and see what happens. Also, next time you try to join a server, pay very close attention to the in-game messages, it might say right before it kicks you why it's kicking you. Could be your ping is too high (try joining servers in your own country wherever you are), or could be your screenname etc. After you get kicked, you can pull up your console and look at the messages from when you were in the server, chances are it will say there any errors or server messages that have to do with your getting booted. Enable console in your advanced options menu and hit the "~" key to bring it up. |
