moh PA problem PLZ GIVE FEEDBACK!

Sry if i'm posting in the wrong section of the site about this but... I downloaded the demo for medal of honor: pacific assult and i got a pop up saying my video card does not support directex 8.1. I am confused because one: i have directex 9.0c, and two, under supported video cards on that pop up, MY CARD WAS LISTED! now, will i have to wait and buy the copy to get directex 8.1 installed? is it because i have a newer version that its not working? will i be able to get the game to run period???? PLEASE GIVE ME SOME FEEDBACK!(by the way, if possible could someone give me a direct link to a place where i can download 8.1?)

as far as i Know you can't return to a pervious version of direct x. Now can you get past that screen? And if so does your game run? I got a directx 8.1 card and i have directx 9.0b games running on it:D.

BTW this forum is fine even though there is a MOH forum. Some of the tech ppl will see this and help you more than i can:).

i have this same fucking problem and i was about to flip out cause it was 50 fing dollars. anyways, i also am confused since my comp has directx 9.0c. and from wat i have heard, XP is compatible and comes with 8.1 as default. if my video card could run new games like vengeance and such with, well, average results, then wtf? man if any1 out there could help me and this guy too it would be great.

my laptop specs:

2.8ghz P4

512 ram

Radeon IGP 345m

40 gigs

Exactly. Just because it meets the system requirements, that means that is the bare minimum that it will go, and even then it probably won't run. MOH: PA has steep requirements to get it working, so I suggest you get a new video card. And by the way, a geforce 4 isn't a DirectX 9 card ;)

This game only runs on directx8 cards and above.. this does not mean just because you have directx9b or c installed it will work.....pixel shader 1.1 or above is required I think. Not sure. That might be the problem. I can't play it on one of my systems that's running a Gforce4 MX440. Runs fine with my 9800XT though.

I read about others with similar laptops also having problems running mohaa AA. I don't know about PA though.

You will find that this game will not work on laptops.

They were not meant to play games on...

Re: moh PA problem PLZ GIVE FEEDBACK!

The Reason your Game dosen't work, is because, although you HAVE directX 9.0c, your video card dosen't SUPPORT it. A GeForce 4MX will not run MoH: PA period. And if your card was listed as unsupported, then problem solved. You Need a New Graphics Card. And a Dictionary.

While i was reading this forum i realised that this MOHPA is a big shit, everibody is complaining of something, whel i to have the same problem, and i wona say that the "makers" of this PA have done a big mistake!
I will be glad if they would fix the problems and minimize the requirements at least to ge force 4 mx 440!

Well, if they did that, then the graphics would suck and the AI would be terrible.........that would just make a shit game....

Hi first post. I also am having loading issues with pa. it takes about 20 minutes for game to completely load. i have played the game until it gets to the submarine screen (night vision) that is where my system crashes. I have tried changing graphics aperture size from 64mb to 128mb in the systems bios, but that does not seem to correct the problem.

amd 2.4ghz
1gb ram
radeon 9200se video card 128mb dirx8.1
winxp sp2

hope this helps anyone and maybe can give more feedback for me also. thanks

update. took out 9200se video card (which should have worked wiyh this game, as it met the specs) bought and installed a geforcefx 5200oc 256mb ddr pci card and now the game works great. it is really bad that one has to pay alot for a game let alone spend quite abit more for hardware upgrades.

Look at it this way boots...games are going to be more and more demanding, and now, you should be good to go for a while.
