I've seen lots of things like modded chipsets, etc. things like that. So I know it can't be modded, however putting an updated graphics card, more RAM things like that is impossible, I forgot how it was because I read it somewhere, but I don't really see the point of it anyways.

Are we allowed to discuss modding consoles here? It's only illegal to reproduce modded consoles, so I suppose. But we should let a mod decide that.
Oh Ok. Thanks for the info. Illegal? Where allowed to upgrade PC's, but not consoles? Nah...

Yeah, its illegal to upgrade consoles.

Especially consoles of this generation. Because of systems like XBL, PSN, and Wii Online (is that the actual name for the Wii network?), a modded console could be easily tracked. I don't know what sort of punishment would be involved but I'd imagine that there is a pretty hefty fine somewhere.

Summary:
If you are going to mod anything, use common sense by only modding a PC.

Oooh...

Yeah, you probably shouldn't mod consoles.

Yeah, modding as in letting it play other games is illegal. Not upgrading it I think.

Edit: Yeah, modding as in letting it play copied games is illegal. Not upgrading it I think.

Upgrading ALL CONSOLES is illegal.

It is not worth the time, money and risk so don't do it.

That's one of the many things what isn't up to you... If I want to play copied games, I will.

But bullshit. Making them faster illegal? What a load of crap. Modding to play copied games is illegal yeah. Upgrading the CPU/GPU/RAM illegal? I don't think so... In fact, downloading games isn't illegal at all. It's the uploading which is illegal. Because you have to upload, in order to downloand. Of course, this may depend on the law in the country you live in.

For whoever gave me that negative reputation, it is true. So I don't know what all your fuss is all about?

Downloading and uploading of games is illegal but only when it isn't uploaded and released as a download from whichever production company made it.

Upgrading ANY components within a console without express permission from the company that developed it (Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo) is illegal.

Both of these are FACTS, regardless of what country you are in. I don't see why it is so difficult for you to grasp this concept.
