Angry how old???
ok so i've just turned 17 and thought that since M rated games are "Mature 17+" i could download M rated things like halo videos... apparently i'm WRONG >.< i was just wondering if this is just a glitch or what

it depends on what your email account or your xbox live's birthdate is set to. If it's not your actual birthdate that may explain why it hasnt changed yet. Aside from that i'm not sure.

In the United States, 17 is the limit to see R-rated movies, but stores require you to be 18 to purchase M-rated video games.

Wrong... 17 is the game limit.

I remember I was excited as hell to buy my first M-Rated game on my 17th birthday. But on XBL you probably have to be 18+ to download stuff that is rated M.

The most direct answer is likely intervention by PEGI since in Europe, the highest two ratings are 15 and 18 rather than ESRB's T, M and AO.

If you are talking about downloading things that are rated M on Xbox Live, then you will have to wait until you are at least 18, if your parents set a child lock on your gamertag. The reason why it's set to 18 is because Microsoft wants you to wait until you are an actual adult to view things that are rated M. Hope this settled some things.
