Default DOA 4 - How The Heck Do I Counter Attack?

sorry dunno where to post this so if its in the wrong place please move it thanks =P

anyway, my question was just 'how do you counter attack in DOA4?"
i see my opponent sometimes countering my attack, which then their side would display some words in green font which i cant read (TV too crap). i think it says Counter Hold or something.
sometimes i would attack them and then they'd throw me to the ground and atack me, whereas when i get caught in the punches of oponents, i;d have to wait till they stop their combo =(

thanks

For middle attacks you push back and the block button.
For low attacks you push back down and the block button.
For high attacks you push forward and the block button.

It something like that. Im sure if you googled it you would find it out.

Basically when they attack, say a middle attack (cause thats the one I can do most of the time) press back and then the block button at the same time that should do a fancy throw of some kind.

Also I highly recommend doing going into the "spar" option, select the characters, then press start and make the enemy just punch, move in on the enemy and practice countering it. Then move onto a low attack and so forth.

You can also set it to go through every move for your character, you have to succeed in the move before it moves onto the next special move. Its a very good way to learn it all.

ahh why didnt i think of that.. instead i used sparring mode for practicing my own moves.. yeah i understand now, i THINK. most of the time when i block, i block before they punch. i assume you have to press back and block at the same half way through their attack?
thanks Mr E

Yeah pretty much as soon as its about to connect you press back and block.. you will get the hang of it.
