| Apparently some of the early XBOXs have faulty power cords. Microsoft is replacing the cords at no cost. You need the manufacturing date and serial number of your XBOX to place the order. http://replacements.webprogram.com/e...amoverview.asp http://replacements.webprogram.com/en-us/faqs.asp#Q-1

| I heard about that. Mine was an earlier version, But I have yet to have a problem, except the Fan prblem I had, but that had nothing to do with the power cords.

| I ordered a new cord just to be safe. I don't use my XBOX that much, but it is better than having to buy a new one because the cord caught on fire.

| Good point. I NEVER leave my Xbox on for extended periods of time, especially for that reason. I love my Xbox, now I don't play it that often, But when I do, I really have fun. I have put countless money and everything into controllers and such. It would be a very sad day for me if that were to ever happen.

| Thread Stuck! This is Important for people that own an Xbox that was manufactured before Oct. 23, 2003. To check this turn your Xbox upside down (remove any disk first) and look for the manufacture date. You will also find your serial number located in the same place. Write those both down and have them handy for when you call or go to the website. The number I called was 1-800-4-MY-XBOX but I was then redirected to 1-866-271-0450 (Number to order your new cord). I called last night. You don't have to call you can also order your new cord via www.xbox.com http://www.xbox.com/en-CA/news/0502/...ement-enca.htm DO NOT BE LAZY! DO NOT PUT IT OFF! GET YOUR NEW CORD! ITS 100% FREE! YOU STILL HERE? GO! |

| A 'friend' of mine wanted to give me an old Xbox not too long ago, and it wasn't too encouraging that one of the cords (I believe it was a controller cord) kept having a loose connection. It didn't say much for the whole system itself, if you ask me.

| I was told about this on Friday night via MSN by a fellow staffer on cnc-files. Since my XBOX was manufactured on 05/21/03 I have put in for a replacement of my cord even though I haven't had any problems as of yet. |
