Well for starter's if It was a controller cord, then it's not related to the above. Second, a bad controller cord normally mean's it's been 'forcefully' pulled out of the socket on more than one occasion. I take care of my Xbox and I haven't had one single problem with it. (Knock on wood).

But to look at such a problem and relate it to the entire system is wrong. Controllers, cords and all other devices are things you can get for the system. Just because you have a problem with one of the controllers doesn't mean the whole system is bad. Like I said, this sounds like it was 'customer induced damage' (an old tech term).

Mine needed one, but I hope they don't send me a US power cable as in Britain we have a 3-pin 230V cable. Probably will though, as I used the UK site.

Heard about this a few days ago, but I thought it was just for people who had experienced overheating already.

I got my confirmation earlier today that my new power cord has been shipped out already. Hopefully I'll have it by the end of this week or the beginning of next week.

I got mine today and it comes with a trip basically, they aren't planing on fixing it. The cord will just trip off if the electricity is triggered back, so basically they don't give a crap if your Xbox breaks, as long as they don't get a damned law suit for your house burning down.

Yeah I got my cord today as well. Haven't hooked it up yet b/c I've been lazy today. Good to know it has a trip, I would guess that would do some good since they don't plan on fixing this gross error. The thing about the lawsuit is they probably will be sued even with them doing this. I had the opportunity to be involved in a class action suit with HP a few years ago for selling computers with defective HDD's and even though they replaced them they were still sued. I can bet that someone had to spend money to replace the cord already or has had a fire at their home and is no looking to sue Microsoft for this.

Yep, mine came the next day after I got the shipping email. But, I'm sure the email must have been delayed in being sent.
