Default HD DVD add-on question

I can get ahold of one of these in great shape with everything but the original remote for $95. Is it worth it? Can I use the big 360 Universal remote to use it or my regular controller?

I think that It's worth it if you plan to buy some HD DVDs. I think, unfortitly, that Blu-Ray is winning, (I HATE blu-ray, price and quality, higher price, same quality if not worse.) Also, if you don't have a 1080P tv, but have a 720p, like me for example. It would be better to get a DVD Upscaler with HDMI. The picture is just as good I think.

I personally prefer Blu-ray, however I can't afford a PS3 at the moment and would never in my life waste the price of a PS3+ to get a stand alone Blu-ray player. My max res would only be 720p or 1080i but I figured using HD DVD or Blu-ray would provide true high resolution instead of just upconverting.
