Register for the COD4 beta today, play tonight!

We said Call of Duty 4 beta details would be coming soon, but we didn't realize it would be this soon. In a late night forum post by Jason West, Studio Head of Infinity Ward, it was announced that early sign up for the beta will begin today at 5PM PT. For those of you keeping score, that's about six hours from now. Furthermore, the post announces that those who make it into the early sign up could be playing as early as tonight. You know, tonight, as in this evening. Finally, the post announces that the beta will be rolled out in waves, with more people being added over time. So, if you don't make it in today, hold tight, as more players will be added every day.

Keep your eye on CharlieOscarDelta.com for details.

I've been trying to get on the official site/forums to sign up for this however after registration I have to confirm my email address in order to advance to the beta page. I'm not getting any confirmation email though. I've tried two different email address and it's been about 30 minutes now and no email(s) have arrived.

bah!

As you'll see on the left, we've activated the countdown clock for when Token Codes to download the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Multiplayer Beta will be available. Come back and press the "Enter Now" button at noon (Pacific Daylight Time) on Monday, August 27th, for your chance to receive a Token!

We've also updated the FAQ with information such as what countries besides the United States will be participating in the Beta, the memory required to download the software, what to do if you encounter problems downloading the software from Xbox Live Marketplace, and more.

Remember, to be eligible for a token from CharlieOscarDelta.com-you must be 18 years of age or older, have an active Xbox Live Gold Membership in the United States and be able to answer three trivia questions correctly. Don't forget to be on time! To be fair, we're doling out the tokens on a first come first serve basis.

After submitting your entry, Infinity Ward will email you your Token at their discretion. Please be patient as there are a lot of users and we are ramping the servers up at a safe pace. Be sure to check your spam folder for emails from Cod4beta@infinityward.com. We also recommend adding this address to your safe address lists.

For now, dig into the details in the pages below. We organized all the MP Beta information into two sections-Intel and FAQ. They outline everything you need to know, from how to download the BETA to what awaits once you do. Stay tuned for more information!

Damn. Only exclusive to the USA.

Yeah, sadly. In September it will be open to the rest of the world, I do believe. I'm also assuming that it will be easier to get in, so no worries. We'll have our time to play.

I was thinking about making a 'US Passport' to see if it would work and allow me to get into the beta - hell I might just try that. ;)

I got into the Beta even though I live in the UK, but then I'm special because of my relationship with IW :D

Just thought I'd show off :P

Not to burst your bubble (because thats great news, grats :)) but it seems like most of my Euro-buddies got accepted into the beta. It seems IW didn't really have a restriction on the beta. Yes, they said (and it was later written in bold on their website) it was "USA ONLY", however they must not have had a system that actually checks for the users location.

Either way I didn't try this round. I'd rather wait until September just because I'm busy with a few other games atm (Bioshock, Two Worlds and Halo 2 MP).

How is it though? It's a 'public' beta so I'm assuming open discussion is allowed.
