Group, team, event?
 

I'd like to gather a list of people who would be interested in forming a group, or a team, clan even, of people that play Xbox live games on the 360.

By reading through some forums here it seems we have a handful of people who play online, so perhaps we can plan some nights of the week to get together and dish it out or do some co-op or whatever. A File Front Forums 360 team.

Apart of my negativity towards Halo 3 is the fact that I don't want to join random battles and be teamed up with complete idiots - half of the CTF games in Halo 2 were easy to win if you were on a team that actually worked like a team. It was rare to find this though and in most cases people would just split up and try to be the first to grab the biggest weapon. This meant leaving your team and thus, in most cases, costing you the game.

If I can find a decent group of players, this could solve that problem. We could form a team and join battles together, this way we would work together and eventually get to know one another well and kick some serious ass. Of course Halo 3 would be only one game, we could use this 'team' to play any and all online games on the 360 together.

OK so before we start, I'd like to get a count of just how many people would be interested in something like this. If enough people are, then I see no reason that we can't make this work. ;)

if you think that looks good check out Crysis for amazing physics. texture wise I've see alot better hell this was done over at the jk3 section of the forums and i sure as hell know that the halo models have a hell of alot more polys than this model.

Ya, too bad it won't be coming to PS3 or 360.

I'm almost excited about the Halo 3 release...but I'm too afraid of losing large amounts of blood through my ear as 10 year olds scream in the mic on XBL.

Sweet. We'll plan some nights that fits everyones day to day schedules. MP nights and even Co-op nights. 4 player c-op ftw.

With 4 players doing co-op I sure as hell hope they've increased the difficulty levels.

I just don't want this to become a verses thread - all we're doing here is trying to build a solid group of 360 players so we can enjoy games like Halo 3 without having to join random battles and risk being teamed with complete idiots. We all know what thats like from Halo 2, right? :lol:

Hell it's looking like we might even have enough to make two teams and have scrimmage nights. That would be awesome!

Has anyone tried the Shadowrun demo? I'm curious to know if we all grabbed the demo, would we be able to setup and play together or would we have to join random servers?

We can plan some GoW nights. I personally didn't play GoW online all that much and I've lent it to my brother atm. But lets set something up - I played some Halo 2 split screen with my brother last night but I noticed that it wouldn't let me connect to the 360 dashboard while playing that game. Is it possible play H2 using the 360, online wise?
It's the same as your regular MSN messenger. While online (on the 360) select the message tab and then login to your MSN using your normal MSN email address/password.

I'm the 'Zaels' person mentioned in the most recent list there. I'll have a Halo 3 pre-order placed soon, though if we want to do some Gears of War stuff in the meantime, that'll work too. I was playing online just a few days ago to see what it was like (I actually hadn't done online play before that, to be honest) and got my ass handed to me. Oh well. :p

Will be keeping an eye here for listed times. :)

On a side note, I dont think my dashboard displays properly when playing Halo 2 on the 360. It says 'The XBOX Guide is not avaliable while an original XBOX game is running. X: 5818.0'.

But I have seen the guide being used properly on various Halo 2 videos.

Any ideas?

(PS - I'll be playing split/screen with my brother so take it easy on me! I find it more difficult only having one side of the freaking screen, haha)

Jumping in now - Alex is setting up the game. I still need to figure out how to load in my profile. I was unable to load into giz1337 last time I played Halo 2. Sadly, I can't load messenger either because it doesn't load the dashboard.

Added the rest of y'all, and popped in Halo 2 to test out the joining and connecting of custom/private matches. Sent off the invite request to Giz and received it (the invite) fine, but when I went to accept it, it'd say "Joining Match..." and then after 15 seconds or so, it'd say that it was unable to connect because of network problems they were having. :uhm:

Didn't look around in options too much, 'cause it's 1:00 AM and I'm tired. Will try again tomorrow. :)
