Default XBOX Live

I know I already asked about XBOX Live but I have one more question. I cant find on the XBOX website how fast my internet connection needs to be. I have 1 meg but my ISP has just told me I need 2 meg which is an extra £7. I know its not much but I just dont want it if I dont need it.

Thanks

<EDIT>

Would a 1 meg connection be ok

I would say that you need at least a 2 meg connection because everyone says that you need it and Xbox live takes alot of bandwith as well. But it is your choice.

Some of my mates are using it on a DSL connection 512k down and 256k up. And they have never complained. Dunno if its different for other countries or something?

If you're playing games then you dont need a lot of upload speed. 256k up would suffice. But saying that, thats from my mates experiences.

A 1.5mb or more connection speed would be the best. Really you just need more if you are hosting any games.

I'm on xbox live with a 1 mb connection with my ISP though what really annoys me is that you can never join anyone in a game from the same ISP it always comes up with network problems please try again later, not that I'm bothered its my brother hes always on xbox live.

You can change your gamertag on the 360 whenever you feel like without having to pay but if your on the Xbox you'll have to wait until your subscriptions runs out where you have to renew then you'll be able to change your gamertag.
