Ok I never knew i would make a thread like this but i guess there's no choice.
First off I am F*cking tired of idiots who come on these forums and flame other people. I've seen a little too much of it and i think something should be done. i dont usually like doing this but here it goes...first there are people who discourage other people from doing mods. In one thread someone wanted to make a Vietnam war mod. Then someone else comes and says "I got a good idea. Go get a Vietnam game." Then the thread turned into an endless arguement. Then there is my biggest problem, when people flame ME. Just recently i kept getting flamed by some MCT people for converting their weapons to Spearhead, even though i gave them full credit, except for the Conversion to Spearhead. Then there's one person who i thought was the greatest of all. Dr. Deleto. He has to be the best modder out there. When i first started modding, practiclly the only thing I downloaded was his stuff. he inspired me. Now i think hes a drug addict. It seems like he wants everyone to make a top quality M-16 from scratch on their first time in modding. Everyone is a n00b at some point and when they see top quality work like deleto's, they want to be just like them. The least you can do is help them, instead you do the opposite. You flame them and they are discouraged. I know i have. I come home every weekday from school to see what you guys are up to in the forums. The last thing i need is for some idiots to call me a "Brainless Child" I have enough crap going on in my life and i dont need you to add anything else to it for me.

Why should something be done? This is a publc forum, and if someone wants to express thier opinion, they should be able to. I havent seen any rules against that.

If someone truly wanted to put thier time and effort into a mod, and some stranger on a forum tells him it is a bad idea and he takes that to heart and does not make the mod, he obviously did not care enough to do it in the first place. I'm sure Deleto and RF and Fubah, all of the great modders and skinner we have today, were at one point persecuted for being a "n00b modder."

Someone would flame you? Oh, gosh, I wonder why. The Conversion Team worked very hard on their mod (CN2), the fact that you start converting their mod to SH, without asking them if they had thought about that/were working on it was what made Deleto upset. From what I read from that thread, he said they were already working on it. If I was Deleto, I would feel like I had done all that work for nothing. When people start modding, of course they would want to be as good as the MCT, but who did they have to look up to? They had genuine ideas that were very original to MOHAA. I'm not accusing you of copying them or anything, just saying what I think.
You shouldn't call him a drug addict because he is upset at you, that's not very mature. You might discourage him from making mods ever again. And because he wants people to be top quality modders, that doesn't make him a drug user. And maybe he is coming across to you wrong, he could be giving them constructive criticizm.

As I said before, if you get discouraged by a faceless stranger on the internet telling you you suck, then you aren't very self-motivated. This is really going to sound like a flame, but anyway... If you come to these forums everyday with the hope that someone posted something you can throw your two cents into, get a life. (Now back to my lecture.) You have "crap" going on in your life? That is because you are in high school, high schoolers have a hard life. Of, you know, doing nothing. Nobody else in the world has problems. I am in high schooler myself, but I don't come here to whine to you about it. There are people with alot more problems than you, so don't try to make us feel sorry for you.
Katarn, I'm not trying to slag you, I have no beef with you. I'm just giving my honest opinion, so please don't hold a grudge for that.
Heh, I'm too old for drugs. As Fluffy said, I was merely standing up for myself when the mod I put months of work into was called crap by some noob who wants to make a , surpise!, Counter terrorist mod.
Yes when I started modding the only people out there who were really known were Fubah and Leon. They did nice work, but I wanted to do more. Me, Hobbs, and Gen Cobra took an idea and made it reality without asking anyone for help, or without starting any threads looking for other people. Us 3 started the mod, and us 3 are finishing it. When City Nights 1 was released it was one solid month of work by just us 3. By the time City Nights 2 was started we had recruited new people to help, and you could see it in the quality of the work. Things were just done better.
Now, as of today we are releasing the FINAL City Nights mod. We had several new faces working with us on this mod, and once again, it will show in the quality. Before City Nights 2 was released we were planning on running with our ideas for the mod for quite sometime. But alas, these noobs who have flamed us for lack of something better to do have halted our drive to do this series anymore. We are releasing CITY NIGHTS FINAL as an attesttment to the mod itself. We love it too much to let it die without one more big bang.
Now you can think I flamed you all you want. And yes, I was a wee bit upset about the countless numbers of people who have ripped our mod apart and put thier name on it. At the same time, go look in your pages for those very same mods, and see how, when people were flaming you for doing exactly that, me and Hobbs would come in and post how it was fine, because you did give credit. We have tried to stay as adult as possible about this whole thing, even through all the flaming we ourselves have had to endure. And for what? for making a mod for the very same people who choose to flame us, and for free at that.
So before you get all huffy and puffy over this, why not spend a few months on something like this, and then watch it get torn aprt and flamed for no good reason other than jealous spite. Maybe then you will understand where I am coming from.

Hey Deleto, could you guys convert the rest of the CN guns to MOHAA? I like yall's stuff, I just like using specific ones. I have 2 or 3 CN guns, and 2 or 3 CN2 guns. I Like to mix and match. I really enjoy you guys' stuff, and I'd like to use more of it.
Oh, by the way, Deleto, I am having a problem with the Axis sniper rilfe from CN that you converted to MOHAA. I can download it and view the textures and sound, but it will not work for my game, even in the main folder. What am I doing wrong?
Are you unzipping the pk3 file? also make sure it comes last in aphabetical order in your main folder. usually adding a few z's to the beginning of the name will work.
Well, I can try that. Not all of my other skins have Zs infront of their names though, most start with "user." Let me try the zzz thing and I'll get back to you.
