Is the Star forge a Death star knock off??

Of course, some might be asking themselves "Who's gonna be the crew, smartass?"
Answer's simple: No one because they were able to move ships around using the Force (even to go into hyperspace) and considering the presence of the Star Forge (s.a.) and the fact they didn't have to go far to defend the Star Forge, this should have been an easy task for only a handful of Rakata.

True, why would they need a weapon if the star forge could build countless ships in such a short time? Ever look at how many sith interdictor ships are in the fleet in the one cutscene? If the thing could produce that many ships that fast, what is the point of putting a weapon on it?

If they had more defence maybe it wouldn't of been destroyed.

As for it looking like the death star....well it obviously had some sort of resemblance...giant station that the sith own that can control the universe blah blah blah

sounds pretty similar to me...it's obvious where they got the idea

Well, they already did quite a good job keeping people away from it without a weapon. See any ships other than Sith when u first approach it? I didnt.

And I think the field generator in that ancient temple on Rakata Prime that makes all enemy ships crash onto the surface of the planet was built for a reason.

Pretty much, yes. The Unknown Planet (location of the temple) has the function to keep away any unwanted visitors near the Star Forge. The shield disrupts their engines, which eventually causes the crashes. Hence why you see a lot of Republic Capital Ships down there, as well as other ones.

Quite true. forgot about that being there. I havent played KOTOR in quite awhile, so I've forgotten most of the little details.
