Nah, George Lucas was a huge Kurasawa fan, and wanted to create an adventure fantasy that bore similarities to Kurasawa films at times.

The obvious one there would have to be Manakin and Padamammy...... I don't even want to imagine Luke and Leia.

So much so that I may just check my self into a psychiatric clinic for electro shock treatment as a preemptive measure.

Yes, but that one was all the fault of Lucas. I really feel sorry for any people who supported that relationship. I even read fanfictions of that if they have a good storyline. Granted, the majority tend to involve Leia's rape by Luke, but I can hope for a good one one day. Hell, I'm writing an incest fic. I don't see it as anything wrong. You can't help who you love and if it's willing on both sides and they have no biological children, I'm perfectly fine with it.
