You mean the secret rebel bomb that detonated the inner core of that poor defenceless planet?
What about the two space stations that were under construction that the rebels viciously blew up? Not to mention the blow the economy and millions of other peoples lives when so much contract labor was ruined and all the projects for building were terminated. The Suicide and Homeless numbers went up by 500% after the destruction of LoveStar I and 700% after LoveStar II :-P
NGE was introduced to conter the inital problem caused by the Jedi Marketing. They never should have been put in in the first place and were inherently flawed. NGE balanced them finaly.
Post NGE Jedi/Non-Jedi are all pritty much ballanced, better then KotOR because to get a good blaster person in Kotor ya need the Speed :-P
Inherently flawed?
Every class in the game is flawed, with the biggest flaws being those of the community who cry out for nerfs of whatever class they can't beat 1 on 1, because they chose a class that shouldn't be a toe to toe fighter in the first place.
Well, this is the first time I have heard someone say Star Wars is not about Jedi/Sith tradition.
Most people I know love Star Wars because of this, and actually it is the only thing that separates it from other storylines like Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica.
Personaly, I love the philosophy in Star Wars, it is the only thing I haven't found in any other space opera, save perhaps, Dunes.
The Jedi/ Sith thing IS the bigger part of the story. Most Games, Mods, Books, Comics, Fan-fic is about Jedi/ Sith.
I go for Jedi, 'cause Lightsabers are really cool tools, you can do/fix everything/one with a Lightsaber: Droids, Speederbikes, Crates, Soldiers, Doors, Sith, Emperors, toast Hawaii...
I don't buy that. In fact, I find the whole Jedi thing to be one of the least impressive elements of Star Wars.
I don't think I ever used a saber or Force power in the Dark Forces / Jedi Knight series unless I was left with no other viable option.
For me, the space element is a lot more impressive, just a shame that all the official Star Wars space games didn't build on it anywhere near as well as they should have.
I find the space & science part of SW a lot more interesting. For example, Hyperspace.
It fun to watch the Millennium Falcon outrun some TIEs and jump to HS but PLAYING as the Millennium Falcon while trying to outrun 6 TIEs and jumping to HS... thats PWNAGE.
