hmmm... my sig is too large by 50 pixels, that sucks. Yeah and milkshape doesn't UVW Map, but hey, thats what you get for 25 dollars. People also use Milkshape cause it's easy to use, i tried using a trial version of 3DS Max and it was much harder than milkshape. (at least for me)
Personally, i use lightwave modeller, which can create UV maps itself. However, It's far too expensive to use just for modding purposes. You can try making a template texture thing. (I don't really know what to call it) Mkae a texture with several distinctive sections, and use that as a base for a template, which you can build your final texture on top of. I recommend using different coloured areas, with differently coloured lines a dots inside. Try not o use similar colours in it.
