This question is mainly for you clannies out there. It is theoretical, and will help me make a decision.
I'm sure many of you have seen the server tracking program that we use at JK2Files.com:
http://www.jk2files.com/file.stuff?body=server_status
Click around...click on those little icons...click on "Who's On?"
I hope you think it's cool. I actually wrote that particular program to work that way.
My question is this. Would you pay $5/month so that you could put the exact same thing on your own Web page? My service would do all the tracking, and you'd simply paste a little HTML on your Web page. Bam. You get all the functionality that you see on that page for ANY JK2 server you want. No programming necessary, no hosting necessary. No logos, banners or links. You would even be able to control colors.
Yes, there are free programs out there that you can download and install on any server for free. But you have to know what you are doing, and you have to have root access to that server. What I am suggesting would work on ANY Web page, even Tripod or GeoCities. Just paste in a snippet of HTML which I give you and you're set.
Is that worth five bucks?
Your feedback is GREATLY appreciated.
